Well, that was an anticlimax if ever there was one. I let Elvis out, he investigated the hanging feeder and the treat bowl and went off to sample all the grass and the hens acted as if he was nothing new at all.

Crafters - To reduce selling expense due to no adjustment to booth space cost reality in the times we live in don't give up.

Go to the next event.
Observe who isn't your competition.
If they were to sell their wares in more vertical racks would that space be enough to split in half?
Or at least enough room for what you sell?

Once you have made whom might be a prospect go to them and strike up a conversation about your past experience comparing sales to expenses etc.
This will open them up to confiding in you their situation.

If their expense to sales ratio is hurting them also ask them if they would be interested in splitting cost of both at next show.

Separate tills.

Discus how displays for both would work. Marketing signs. etc. This can be done I've seen it done.

Besides benefits of reducing expense in half you have someone to talk to.
The more you talk to others in your game the better you become playing it. Picking up idea's.
It also gives you after trust built up the ability to leave.
Go get lunch or take care of an errand that normally you wouldn't be able to do.

I can remember past events probably about 4 times over the years I was ready to buy but the sales persons booth was empty.
LOST $$$ = STUPID!

hey CL, just an update, the pullet has been up and down up and down, finally gave in last night and called a friend to come help me cull her as she was really rumbly, friend came over this morning and said fat pullet had NO rumble, congestion or sneeze or discharge whatsoever... so she got a reprieve and if the clear chest holds she will be returned to the flock. if it comes back she is definitely chronic and I will cull her then. but for now she is doing quite well. wish her luck please

Happy New Year to you too!!! Thanks for posting the spur removal stuff!! What new ears???

Spur trimming works as well like a dogs nail.. clip off sharp points to make it so it does not scratch or slice anyone...

New ears = new hearing-aids with Bluetooth! so I can better use cell phones, mp3 players, ipods, etc etc

Is this the "hot potato" spur removal?
Was printed on the last Fall's WFF newsletter & I tossed it out, or lost it.
It involved a potato heated in the microwave, then cram it on the spur & waite a while, then the spur will fall off due to the steamy heat.
Edited to add:
Why bother with a hot potato ???
Thanks RW!!

Why not make a baby goat 'raincoat' out of the feed bags?

Hmmm well now there's an idea for you!! We don't worry too much about rain here, even in the winter!! But, they may sell like HOT CAKES over there!!
