This is true because I remember posting stuff too! I believe no one here, would ever intentionally hurt anyone, and if they have I'm sorry, the one thing I have noticed is if anything, they go out of their way to make one feel supported, as much as the internet can do that. There are lots of personal opinion, that, we all have. But, VF know that what ever is said, especially from me, is only said with heart felt and tender feelings, and really the best of intentions!!

I woke up to discover my only black copper marans pullet missing.

I had her, a splash Marans hen and a solid black Marans hen in with the birchen blue Marans roo in a temporary pen for the winter. Their run is not covered. So every night and every morning I go and let them out of their coop. Today, only the 3 came out of the coop. Copper, liked to fly over the fence a lot. So I'm assuming that's what she did and we didn't notice. Praying there is a slim chance she was just hiding out over night and will show up, but I kind of doubt it.

Alright, well I'm going to brave the mall with the kiddos. Wish me luck!

A raccoon or so I believe got into his coop, pulled him out, dragged him around the run and they had quite a battle which he won. That morniing I found his feathers all over the place but strangely all he had was missing feathers around the back and a bloodied comb. I wanted to treat his comb but he didn't want any of that, so I waited til night to catch him. It looked okay, so I left him be in the coop, locked it up good, and the next morning he was gone. No extra feathers, no blood, no body, no trace.

That was weeks ago. I really do miss him and I hope whatever happened, it was quick.

I just want to say, for eveyone's bird and animal losses I'm so sorry!
