Where is everyone? I can't be last of the day and first of the next!

I've had that happen, and I wasn't happy about it.

21F here overnight, and I've got to get out the door and deal with chicken water. NOT happy about it, as the cold yesterday has already settled in my bones and my hips, especially, are not happy with me.

It's cold here too. Looked out the bedroom window as soon as it got light and saw all the frost. It doesn't bother the ducks - they were all playing in the pond (luckily not frozen). The chickens were out looking for worms and other tasty stuff. Since I don't "lock" them in at nights, they can come and go as they please. They don't seem to mind the cold, as much as they mind the rain. Then they hide.

How come everyone is always cleaning coops? We use the deep littler method; reduces cleaning quite a bit. Maybe have to change that soon though; right now we only have the one big coop, so as soon as I get the smaller breeding pen, I'll have to start really doing some cleaning. Sigh. (I'm waiting till the weather gets better. I don't like all this cold icy stuff.
