First time we got that census as well - I get a college graduate one tracking my career nearly every year, even though I gave it up when Alex was born 13 years ago! I saw others on here mention it, makes me wonder if they targeted BYC! .... or maybe they go by lot size. We have just over 3 acres, but most of it is heavily wooded.

We got it to and we have almost 5 acres. I did check into a grant from USDA last year and thought it flagged me??
I dont have chickens or hatch them so no idea why I go it??

Oh and I hatched these from yesterday-LOL!!!! The front row of the hatcher has hatched.

We have about 5 inches, most of it from Saturday. Fridays snow would come and go. It is supposed to snow through Tuesday or Wednesday. It is not snowing right now. My dogs also LOVE the snow, chickens not so much. they can get out the run door and run around the coops under the eaves, and can get to one chunk of woods near the coop that hardly gets any snow on the ground. (I limbed up the trees and cleared out the few plants that did grow so I can see both the chicken coop and the dog run from my desk). I tossed a few tomatoes out there and only a few of the birds braved the white stuff to eat the tomatoes.

My banty chickens were more curious, well at least the ones I did not get from Heather. I tossed a few shovel fulls in their run, and they all came running, curious, and eating it like a yummy snack. The two from Heather wanted nothing to do with the snow. I guess they have seen too much of it !

Snowing here again, and we have got to get to the grocery store somehow today. I've got pea gravel to put on the wheel-ways in the driveway, but no energy or strength to do that and everything else I need done. I'm fresh out of people I can ask, hire or guilt into the job, and twenty-eight years of taking care of it myself doesn't earn me a less steep, rutted, north-facing driveway by some kind of bonus point system.

Oh, well, go take care of the living things, I guess.

Sorry!!! We didn't get anymore overnight, still around 5".

We are contemplating venturing out, but our steep hill terrify's me. I'm supposed to get to the chiropractor 3x a week, and they are saying a bigger snow event Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, so that rules out my Wed visit and they are closed on Thursdays, so I figure if I get in today, I can at least do 2X this week. DH is home today, so he is thinking about it. We need to hit the grocery too. I figure he'll be taking my AWD tomorrow to work, so I'll be stuck then too.

The storms sound miserable, although the snow is beautiful. You all stay warm and be careful out the roads!!!
And CL, that photo you posted is adorable!!!

I would not drive down your hill lol. its waaaay steep!! wondered if you parked at the bottom or what when it snowed!

my arm hurts from shooting. I got to shoot a .300 rifle and that thing kicked.... my friends got a laugh out of it cause every time i shot i would fall back on one leg.... I hugged that thing tight... i don't see any bruising yet.... but my arm was not happy for me to move it for a while. 308 and other rifles were shot. and i used my friends shotgun... i don't like pump action shotguns... i am used to my great grandfathers gun 1923 the first break type one. i told patrick to only load 3 cartridges into his .12 his holds 6 and could have a magazine but my arm was tired.... on my first try (the 3rd shot) i almost hit the clay pidgen. It was a fun day but really cold.

And while i was gone it apparently dumped 3 inches of snow super fast in pullman (didn't snow where i was) and everyone is stuck and the roads are not plowed.... the fire department was even busy shoveling and sweeping their area. tomorrow i need to go grocery shopping i hear there is a storm warning till wednesday for 2 feet of snow.....

edit: just checked and tonight it is calling for 6.5 on the way here......... i may not get to go shopping tomorrow...

I hope you're close to one of the dining halls if you can't get to the grocery store! My daughter works at Southside dining Hall and didn't get off until late last night. She sent me a photo of the conditions she was walking home in - these are the things that make Mom's worry! She said it was "blizzarding" outside (which may have been a slight exaggeration), but it is definitely snowy over there! Keep warm and stay safe!

No, last year we did that with that Thanksgiving week storm. DH parked his convertable bug down there. Our neighbors called us the next morning at 6:00am to tell us that their car and ours had been broken into. They smashed the back window which is set into the convertable top. We ended up having to replace the entire convertable top for $5k. Thanks goodness we had insurance! But it hasn't worked right since then. So, no. We don't park down there. We just don't go out at all unless we absolutely have too!

I live next to southside dining hall.

Last night right before bed there was a knock on my door. I open it to find a girl with a laptop and many guys outside my room. They said my room is haunted. I open my door more, "No its not". they realized that my 2 Ottlite lamps are super bright.

since i live in my room i would think i should know if its haunted or not.

they also said there is a knock on the door every night and that there is a figure outside my room. they didn't seem drunk.
I asked other hall neighbors if anyone knocked on their doors, no but they heard the people who were outside my room.
So i think there was a Pullman first.
