Okay so I just woke up and I gotta say - Through all that chunk of storm that is passing over us, we've yet to receive an inch of snow, in fact I don't even think it is snowing outside, and it's dead calm.

Kinda weird.

Forecast says it should all pick up at 1PM for us though.

I just texted CR
-Say a prayer for him and the birds. He has pens pancaked from weight of show. Caving in and he is trying to salvage anything. I am heading out now. We have from what I see on the deck 8 inches of snow between 1am and 7am.

Wow.

That's a lot of snow.

I have to get out and clear roofs: everything's up except the sheep's tarp is sagging, but I don't know how much more everything will hold. The top of the hoop house is clear but the sides are half-buried in slid snow.

UGLY out there, in a pristine-and-picturesque-snowscape kind of ugly.

We've gotten about three inches. It's still falling; very fine and powdery. There doesn't seem to be any wind, bit the snow is so fine, it's drifting under the sides of covers. I put the trunks of some saplings we cut under the tarps covering the pens to create pitched roofs. So far it seems to be working, but I'll go out and broom it off in a bit.
