Argh. I keep leaving this window open and going off to do things, because I'm too far behind on this thread ever to catch up!
Driveway is still a tasty combination of slush and glare ice, at 46F! 64.2 in the study. I need to go put the storm curtains back where they belong to figure out what the temperature is in the living room. Right now it says 50F but that's the temp on the inside of double-weight upholstry brocade with a coated back over another set of curtains and aluminum shades. Oh, and triple-pane thermal-break windows.
Saw one of my cousin's hen pheasants under the broken tops of the plum tree yesterday: good wildlife habitat, but it's laying on the pasture fence, and that's not a tolerable situation.
In my experience, the critical part of SSS is "shut up."
