IBD peeps have problems with dairy and tomatoes, acid in the maters irritate the inflammed lining. BUT everyone is individual, I can eat tomatoes baked on a pizza, or cooked down in say tortilla soup, but straight tomato soup affects me. have not decided if its the tomato or the msg in the canned soup. I can also do most dairy, although ice cream gives me a gut ache, I eat it anyway

Oh Ice Cream is my weakness !
I had Vanilla (GF) and our Strawberries on top last night (Thanks again to WA4-HPoultryMom gave me the best Strawberries !
DH had Strawberry shortcake.
My Step DD, (DH's youngest of 4 girls!) has issues with any fresh fruit or veg...it starts with instant itching IN the mouth, tongue, cheeks....then progresses to almost an athsma like issue, then a gut ache that lasts for days.
Cooked Brussels Sprouts is all she can eat.
I am not sure of other Brassica, don't think she has tried any other Brassica.
I warned her to start carrying a stick pen.....she is an anaphalactic accident waiting to happen.
After all this, I wonder if I should even attempt to raise bees........?
Have been stung by a yellow jacket 1X and it was BAD !!!!!!!!!!! For days !!!!!!!!!! Like my entire ARM was in severe pain (stung on the finger)
Bees have a different venom...but fooling around with the immunal system is not a good thing to do~
I may have to gift all my bee stuff.........:(
RW::: want a hive body ???:yiipchick

that sounds more like serious food allergies. those are scarey, I would insist on an epi pen too!

No, I got the broken arm on it resolved last year. Now the fan isn't working. And I didn't fill out the warranty card so I'm sure they'll tell me I got it wet and it's my fault. I didn't, but I just suspect that is what I will hear. DH looked at it and couldn't get it going. Offered to try and replace the fan himself but I wanted to call them first.

I need to make you one of my home made PERFECT incubators...no digital, T-storms & power surges will never be of issue.
No digital poop to mess with...as long as you have the "I can't believe it's not butter" container (

)
and that gets it to 55% and the smaller oyster quart gets it to 65-67% !!
hey it works GOOD!!!!!!!!

My French Cuckoo Marans
There are 2 or so young pullets that are bare legged.
Those will be sold.
The work is trying to get the entire flock to breed true french again.
I had 5 French hens, and no cock.
So bought English eggs, hatched & sired the cock you see here which got his feathered shanks from my old french hens, and their great temperments.
Sill hatch out an English from time to time as you see with the pullet next to him.
This is Anthony, the Beta Cock.

He's absolutely beautiful - really stunning.

I was told to carry one, by an expert on allergies, a wonderful Hindu doc...quiet, and listened to my symptoms...love the doc.
So I get 2 every year, and was giving 1 to my step DD, but she would not have any of it.
Teens & young adults all think I am crazy when I speak of immunal & gastro issues.
My son, my daughter, and my grandson all have Celiac pre-disposition.
It is evident in the allergic shiners they have.
GD Samantha does not have allergic shiners.
Ryan (GS) does.
My son thinks I am full of so much pucky & generally changes the subject when I bring it up.
That and he will not face the fact that he is very swollen..........huge, and has LOW matabolism & functioning...and no one realizes, if the gut cannot absorb, you will NOT be functioning at 100%, in your work, your school or your life in general..watch for allergic shiners.

Thanks!
And he is sweet !!!!!!!!!!!
And both cocks are intelligent !
They are BRIGHT & watch the skies, they herd the girls around the yard & if they see a hawk or predator they herd the girls in to cover.
If there is a fight with a young cockerel or two, either Milton or Anthony will run over & drop kick the fighters...no fighting going on when they are around.
After they seperate the fighters, they walk away, they do not fight with the 2 that were fighting...they are like COPS patrolling & keep all in line & in peace.
Saves me from having to run out & stop fights between young cockerels.
Milton & Anthony are like FATHERS doing their job, raising their wives & kids...they are a family.
