I see we have another "lurker" from San Diego.
Howdy don't be afraid to popinand say Hi. We don't bite ....... well most don't.

It might be me - not sure, but I leave the WA thread open in a browser window (cuz we all know this thread goes a mile a minute) and I keep getting kicked off the forum so if it's during a moment when I'm kicked off, I might look like the one lurking.
If it's not me, for heaven's sake whoever you are, jump in! This is a nice group of people!

Nope it was somebody new but Sorry I don't remember the name! ! !

I love elk so very much, but there really are more of them around than there are supposed to be.

(And they make such great cube steak, chili, and slow-roast tenderloin).

Oh yeAH !!!!!!

:drool
They also walk right through any fence, barb wire or otherwise, even 6 foot feild fence. They
goes were they wanna go............
That said, I need another 10 # of GB and another 10# of  ground pork.......and is that beef quarter ever available ?

I bought a quarter back when things fell through (and am still paying for it) but it was wrapped weirdly (1-5 steaks per package). I'm not sure about the status of meat for sale right now, nobody's got time to talk and the calves started hitting the ground Monday.

What happened to winter?
Oh, it'll be back. Remember the last week of February/first week of March last year?

Last year, we had some lovely mild weather in early February. I went out and clipped back, and cleaned up the garden. Then came late February. I lost my Mexican feather grass. I'm not going to make the same mistake this year.

we did 20 yeard last Sept. and its under poop and yuck now.

My yard is always muddy. I lined the chicken run with ground cloth and then covered it with 5 inches of woodchip. that has helped tremendously with the mud. I had the dog kennel out there for a year before I moved them to a new run that did not have the ground cloth, but it had at last as much bark (both kinds). withing 6 weeks my dogs made a mud-pit out of the new run. I am going to install ground cloth and re-cover it this summer.

Too tired to catch up now. I clocked in at work at 9 am and clocked out at nearly 10:40 pm, and have worked at least 12 hrs per day with not much time to grab a bite for lunch. I just run next door for teriyaki takeout, then eat a bite or two between clients if I get a chance. Why does everyone get their taxes done at the same time?

Construction and labor jobs pay well! I have HS drop outs in their early 20's pulling in 70K and 50 y-olds with masters degrees making under 50K. The college grads who have finally paid off their student loans feel like they are rolling in $ while young punks making nearly twice as much can't save a dime. I've come to the conclusion that college graduates are financially better off because they know how to live frugally

I miss my chickens. I hardly get to see them. They are mad because I still can't let them out in the yard to free-range as usual. We had about30 - 40 trees come down, mostly alder, but there are now at least 3 big firs and cedar that crashed through the fence and ripped it off. I finally got a chance to see the back of the yard on Tuesday. I was shocked! No time to make calls to find someone to clean it up, so I asked someone doing some maintenance in the parking lot at work if he could go up to my place and give me an estimate. He is going to section the trees and stack them for firewood, fix the fence, and clean the yard. The chickens will be most appreciative!

Off to bed; I start again at 9 and have another full day...

Went out a little while ago - it was, wait for it. . .
SUNNY and over 50 degrees!
