I have had depression very bad before, I admit it.
And no issue with the first born baby girl, nor my third baby girl, but with my son I got BAD post partum depression to the point of (ok lock me up) I remember sitting on the couch nursing him & just BAWLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I nailed the front door shut so my SD at the time could not come in...he was very active ((suddenly)) with another man....(!SIGH!!) yeah I locked his f*g a** out !!
So they sat in HIS car & steamed up the windows while I sat on the couch crying & nursing my baby boy.
Mothers have preservation & protection instincs for their babies....I do not think this guy did, I also think guilt was killing him.
That is an issue of hormonal imbalance.
I was over protective of my baby...never ever ever thinking of suicide nor killing my child !!!!!!!!!!!!!

That IS judgment, but it's ok to say what you THINK. Hormonal imbalance or not, lots of things can go wrong in the human brain when pushed over the edge. And you were one of the lucky ones, many women with post partum depression do kill their babies without realizing what they are doing only to come out of it with a conviction and lifetime of guilt and wishing they themselves were dead. All I'm saying is we convicted this man before he was proven guilty and we gave him time to go crazy. I THINK that contributed to him taking these innocents lives.

So, allmost all my pens nets are OFF, and in the back pen for started birds, the buck babies would NOT GO OUT !
So I noticed & went to look & saw feathers & this bird...uneaten.........
What is this bird ?
All my books are in storage~~~~~

I think I know but want to see what ya'll say~~~~~~~
Oriel ? A sapsucker...... this was a nectar feeding bird~~~~~

OK I am sorry for opening this can of worms. While I do have my own opinion I have tried not to relay that (except about Steve) . It is true that Josh had not YET been convicted in a court of law.

OMG they just released the ME's COD for all 3. I can't even bring my crude self to post it on here.

Not to quote you whom quoted me, but my depression has dipped way down & back again....but NEVER did I want to do harm to anyone of my babies.
I'd do in the SD in a heartbeat....... AND I DID if he raised 1 hand to me or my kids !.....got the nick name Cougar Mom for about 5 years....

.....Life without adult males can be better than with...and my kids & I did OK on the homestead.

No problem, I get it. People who have never experienced depression have no idea. I run into the same problem with people who have never raised a child with a disability. They judge but HAVE NO IDEA. Again, you cannot judge someone unless you have live their life. It APPEARS he knew everything he was doing but who are we to judge? We don't know the rationalization that was going on in his head. He probably would have been convicted and the kids still alive if we left them all alone.

Was it attacked by something, or did it just drop dead? I don't know what the bird is but if we see a bird just lying there - and this is in SoCal, mind you - we're supposed to report it because of fears of West Nile. Is that an issue in WA?
