Wish ya woulda said something when ya were here I have fans that work great in those.

So go to my website its mountaindairysoaps.com and than go to the goat page on the left and than go to the links, I have lots of info to help you there.

Around the tail head the lig will break down and around the tail head if you were to grab it there you could feel the whole bone . That means she will kid with in the next 12 hours or so. Now with saying that some of our girls will look at you and look fine than when you leave the barn they laugh at you and start pushing. Thats why I have a camera, I have goat TV in my dinningroom. If you need more info after you look at my site pm me ok. Dont this lots of time for many years...

AAARGH!

I don't know what to do, or what to look for! My goat, we don't know but think she was pregnant when we got her, almost 5 months ago, and that's the gestation period. What should I look for? Oh dear. Her udder is beginning to get bigger, and her teats are a bit swollen, her "private bits" are relaxed . . . Himself is putting more straw in her shelter now . . .

2 bunnies due to kindle tonight (one aborted last week, two have already had 8 babies each in the past 2 weeks, and we go into chicken lock-down on Friday. . . tearing out hair and fingernails!)

All our dogs have been very good with the chickens, even Bella, but her herding instinct is very strong. It's only the roos she will face off for some reason. She can 'cut' roosters all day like a horse cuts a calf. She wants nothing to do with chicks. Your Corgi is so pretty!

LOL, just realized (duh) the reason the hen defended her roo is because he defended her. Goes both ways. Just sayin.

Hey everyone! Just checking in real quick...please keep Audrey in your thoughts/prayers today. We have to go in at 3:30 this afternoon for a follow-up EKG/ultrasound of her heart to check and see if the hole is closed/closing up or not....

Hope you got good news!

Hello! I am pretty new to BYC... and chickens in general! I must admit i have a problem collecting chickens... :) They are just so much fun and I am loving getting the eggs every morning! We are up in Ferndale, WA... I have 1 turken, 2 Americanas, 1 banty, 1 barred rock, 1 (not sure, kinda like a barred rock, but a little diff...) 1 Polish Crested rooster ~ Poppy, he is pretty crazy..., 5 black astrolops, and 10 buff orphintons, incluing 1 rooster. we are currently collecting our eggs to put in an incubator soon (probably try with abut 24 or so eggs...) then in a couple months i will be breeding out some of our hens (the buffs with the buffs, a couple friends have a barred rock rooster and an amercana rooster) so that we will be some pure chicks.

i am also getting a couple silkies at the end of the month... i just think they are the coolest things! I have yet to find the purpose of them, but oh well. i look forwardto getting to know someof you!

You're in good company here as far as chicken (and other critters!) collecting goes.
Silkies are great broodies and make fabulous live incubators and foster moms. They're also fun pets, and people eat them too.

This is what we think of the 6 inches of snow we woke up to....

ROTFL! I heartily agree!
Will you be showing any Min Pins at the SKC show this weekend? I'm debating going just to visit and shop, but might save my energy and $ for Monroe instead.

So yea, I got 15 out of 16 to hatch, one of mine is dead I think, I'm gonna give it another day, then find out, I don't hear anything. Not sure if the little AM B will make it but we will see!! yea !!!! Oh and I have two turkeys still in the bator to hatch on the 12th!

Hey congrats Pettec! Cute little fluffernutters. Hope they get your Internet fixed too.

Well my hatch went egg-celent also....only 1 fail to pip & the egg quiet so I cracked it on the air cell & yes, a dead baby.
So I have 3 turkeys & 11 Black javas in the bator.....over run with chicks !

Have been trying to catch up with egg orders & answer questions & PMs all day..........

Seems each & every person who wants eggs asks 10 questions, how do they lay ?
How are they in cold ?
Do they go broody often ?
My personal favorite:
Are they a sustainible flock ? (???????????????????????

)
I am coming to hate that word !
Are any chickens sustainible ?
No. You must feed them, water them, house them & protect them.
Most breeds will not increase their numbers by themselves, you have to get in there & isolate & help broody hens.
You really need to incubate & learn to cull weak or inferior birds to keep your flock strong if not to SOP standards...so many questions.

I had a dream last night that DH went up the hill to the turkey hen's hiding nest, and brought back 1 turkey egg and 3 BIG turkey eggs only they were bright blue.
He had the one off-white speckled regulat T egg & the 3 blue ones in his hands & showed me, it was so real I woke up & wondered where he had put them ?
I am egg-zausted............again..........

Me is also thinking it is about time to til the pea patch & plant some snow peas ?

So I have 6 posts to go huh ????????? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm maybe I better hang around & play some more.

Anyone starting garden starts yet ?

I am sooooo ready for spring !

TC::::: Find your lost hen ?
