I guess what i was referring to the many regulations that help everyone in the workplace today regardless of your jobs or affiliation. Hour limitations, especially for youth, meal breaks, minimum wage, minimum working conditions etc....things that in the beginning people came together as a union to fight for....I won't argue, that today there are things that should be changed. eliz

Yes, that's true. But I guess I was just being idealistic really. It would be nice if everyone had a good work ethic, and "big" companies were totally ethical and treated everyone with respect, then there wouldn't need to be unions, or government interference. If people who had disagreements simply sat down with an arbitrator and discussed things like adults it would be so much better.

Oh well, one can "DREAM" of Utopia!

Ron, come help me build a coop. I am clueless and fearful to try....I am paying in beer and BBQ.

RFF is right. Click on one multi-quote button. Then click on the individual quote buttons. I believe if you want them in a specific order you click on the quote button in the order you want them, top to bottom, in your reply.

Russ

Nope....just did it for this one....did not pick up the post above this one that you "multi-quoted". What I am meaning is the "quote" inside a "quote" inside a "quote". Does this make sense?

See me I would have said yes these chickens are a small investment in an attempt to make much more $$ to continue to provide you with all of the nice things you have come to expect.

I'm not trying to make any $$$ just trying to help me destress. Birds sure help me do that. I stayed outside with them for quite some time yesterday. I felt like taking away his birthday and locking him in a closet. I was so angry.

My birds are my "fix" everyday. They are so relaxing to talk to and watch.

I'm glad she's settled in and laying. BTW, what colour are her eggs? The only one's I could tell (apart from the EE's) were the Cornish, who all lay a med very pale roundish cream egg. Has she met her new partner yet? Even if you can't hatch her eggs yet, I don't suppose it matter if she's in with him. I'm looking forward to see what kind of chicks she will make for you

Her eggs are light brown or tan. They are a large size that are more round shaped than a regular egg. Yes, she is in with her new mate now. Soon as I hatch some of her eggs, I'll send off a photo. Still have to wait for her to purge your rooster.
I did pick up 17 more speckled chicks from Tony Albritton at the Monroe Show.

That would be our RonB - going in for surgery and lining up things to do to help other people while he's recuperating!
Mikeyb - I'd take him up on his offer. You should see his barn and set-up.
(My set-up isn't insulated. I just bought cold hardy birds.)
Will be thinking of you on Wednesday, Ron. And, yes, guest bed is made up for Diane if she needs it! Whatever helps works for me!

The barn was built in the 1930's probably just before CR was born

Its old and slowly falling apart but it keeps my girls dry and out of the wind! I really don't think you need to insulate a coop around here. The only reason I did was because I got the stuff for free.
