Unfortunately, that is what I am afraid of. LOL. At this point...planning on 10 x 20. I am building a serama coop. It will have individual pens inside of it to house them.

I'm crap at math but if you try to keep all of your dimensions equal to, or multiples of standard wood sizes you'll be a MUCH happier camper. Also, depending on your design, if you can build it in sections and then assemble those sections into one you'll be an even happier camper.

We were so close to being semi-neighbors. Winthrop was on our list of locations but we ended up in Brinnon instead.

Oh.... I forgot to mention. I have been diagnosed as pre-diabetic....yes diabetes runs in my family and yes I have some "immediate" family who are insulin dependent. "Pre" basically (from what I understand) means either "shape up now" or pay the price. It sucks getting old. Oh, and my vitamin D was at an extreme low level so I am on 50,000 units for 12 weeks (a week) and then recheck and back to 1,000 units a day if that works. Again...stinks getting old.
Please get with the program and get that under control NOW ! You do NOT want to go there. For DW we do 1 med for diabetes, 1 insulin morn and eve and one insulin morn, noon, dinner and bed time. Testing 4 times a day. And then if the health aspect doesn't get your attention. Maybe this will test strips $45 per month and insulin 1 box (2 1/2 week supply) $265 we use almost 2 boxes per month of one kind and 1 box of the other. Just think what not taking care could cost. THAT NEW TRUCK!

Just put 13 eggs in the incubator.

I am a hatchingholic. I told my husband not to worry I won't hatch any more until these ones sell.

4cats3kids1hubby2many,

PLEASE take care of yourself with the diabetes. Though not due to diabetes, I donated a kidney to my super amazing wonderful beautiful loving mommy on June 1st, 2006. You do NOT want to go down that road and that's pretty much the only place diabetes will lead you.

So today my nephew picked out two more chicks to add to our brooder. I got them at our local co-op. One of them, was labeled Ameraucana. I am including pictures to see if anyone knows exactly what they think she might be?
THANKS!!!

Ameraucanas at the co-op are really easter eggers. They might be mostly ameraucana but you will get a blue or green or pink, or brown egg. And they come in some interesting colors. They are fun because they are a mystery of what they will be like when they get older and the eggs they lay will be a mystery. I got 2 "Ameraucanas" and I got lucky one lays a blue egg and one lays a green egg. But they are more flighty then my others.
