Thanks ! I have a WGB also, but am being lazy today (Ha !not ever going to happen !)
Yes Linnaria will self sow.....we have enough of that going on with tomitillos and Nasty-stutiams !!!!!!!

TOOK OVER the garden !

Gorgeous pics! I wish our self-sowed tomatillos produced well, but they always start too late. I'm looking at the violet-colored flower in there. What is that?

So today my nephew picked out two more chicks to add to our brooder. I got them at our local co-op. One of them, was labeled Ameraucana. I am including pictures to see if anyone knows exactly what they think she might be?
THANKS!!!

I got two " Ameraucana's" awhile back they were hatched March 5th. They both looked exactly like that when I got them... Any " Ameraucana, Americana or anything like that you order from a hatchery or get at coop/ feed store are EE they are not true Ameraucana's. Here are a picture of my chicks I also have amerucana (EE) who was hatched in Sept. Here is what she looks like. And a pic of her first egg she laid 3/30..( its the green one) she looked the same as chick just a little darker then yours

Finally got all caught up. This last week has been really busy with me between the warm weather, working outside, school work and what not. I did make it up to the Enumclaw Auction and despite my desire to stay under budget I went over a little. Came home with 18 chicks. I have no clue what they are. I do know they appear about a week old, they are black. Some are all black, others are black with white masks, some are black with white chests, and some are black with red masks. I'm probably just going to wait until they grow in their feathers and take pictures. We did sell the one rhode island red rooster we had. We have two rhode island/speckled sussex (we think) roosters that need homes and the geese too...

Blueberry Buckle...GF Version:

Cake batter:
1C GF flour
2 t baking powder
1/8 t salt
1/4 C butter softened
1/2 C sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla (or in this case, raspberry) extract
1/3 C milk or half & half
2 C blue berries (or any berries)
1/2 t Xanthum gum

Mix dry & mix wet in seperate bowls, then combine.
In a seperate bowl have topping:
1/3 C GF flour
1/3 C sugar
1/4 cup cold butter
1/2 tsp cinnemon

Smash it all up together so it is crumbly........

Now, in greased 8 x 8 pyrex, pour bottom with berrie about 1 berry deep...then fold in the rest of the berries & blob into the pan...smear it around so it is level & air spaces filled, then sprinkle the crumbs on top.
Bake at 350 for 20-30 or until batter is cooked & tooth pick inserted comes out clean.

This recipe can be made with regular flour, just omit the Xanthum gum.it is super awesome !!!
Also great with squirt whip cream on top or vanilla ice cream.

So I wonder if I can use something other than milk, I want to eat it too.

Unfortunately, that is what I am afraid of. LOL. At this point...planning on 10 x 20. I am building a serama coop. It will have individual pens inside of it to house them.

what type of roof do u have in mind because it can make a difference in how you build the walls

Cheryl,

Old New England's wives trick, works WONDERFULLY! Have a few friends hold your shoulders as you sit on a chair or couch. Then have someone stand in front of you, standing away from you and grab a foot. They should give your foot a few good hard tugs like they are trying to remove a winter boot. Then do the same with the other foot. Repeat twice a day, for two days. They may need you to brace yourself with your other foot on their tush if you don't have extra friends to hold your shoulders.

You'll go into labor within 24-48 hours, generally. May be earlier.

There's something about getting the muscles of the uterus to begin contracting, some midwife must have noticed that women went into labor during snowstorms and started recommending it back in the days before the AMA. Works like a charm.

I've gotten over a dozen ladies to go into labor with this trick, including aunties and bosses!

That is so interesting !
And I was washing & waxing cars & floors & mowing lawns, and all I had to do was take my boots off ???????????? Now ya tell me !!

I wonder if this working has something to do with stretching the ligaments and muscles in the hips and pelvic region. Interesting to say the least. Unfortunately, I really dont have anyone around to help me do these "forced stretches." I mean my mom is next door, but she wouldnt be able to do it... Hmm... Now you got me thinking. lol Thanks for the info! Might have to see about getting help with this one!

Sounds like the inversion table would work...if you could breath while tipped..............

Are you able to do squats? I used the foot board of my bed so I could hold on n help myself up then squat down sittin on your ankles and bonce slightly not fast and take slow deep breaths. It stretches your pelvic and the deep breaths brings oxygen down to your uterus. I did this about one time an hr for about 4-6 mins and walked around my house and within 4 hrs I was in labor. You can also do this on a exercise ball or a birthing ball. Slow steady bouncing or rolling your hips like you would with a hula hoop. You can also sit on the floor with a pillow under your belly for support spread your legs not wide but comfortably apart and slowly stretch forward and side to side this. I have lots of good tricks. Good Luck

Even in my best years, while 10 months prego if I squatted I could not breathe, nor could I get back up !!!!!!!!!!
