Everybody's bathed- sure am tuckered. I have Polish and aruacanas and a silkie going to Stevenson. I think I'll try taking a trio of true araucanas to sell- maybe there'll be someone there who has a clue what they are...

I might be interested in some araucanas! We used to have a decent flock from Steve Waters but interests changed but now we are thinking about getting back into them. I'll be there poking around and am sure I'll see them

And with that said, I better get off the computer. I have pens to clean, chicks to move, a brooder to clean, critters to feed, and I still need to pack and leave instructions for the care of the critters before we leave this afternoon for Stevenson. I hope to see lots of you there. My sister will be showing youth, she will have a white call drake, blue sumatra bantam, and her showmanship bird is a white phoenix. Her last name is Locke so if you find her cages, I'll be around there somewhere I'm sure. I know we're going to the breakfast on Saturday morning too.
Like I mentioned on the show thread, I look like I do in my profile pic <-----, I am in my early 20's, bald, some sort of facial hair, I'll be wearing a black carhart jacket since I'm guessing it'll be cold and rainy there. Wow. Just did my first check of the weather maps today, and WOW am I glad I don't live along the Chehalis; I was at Porter three weeks ago and all the low fields were under water all ready, and now there's a huge storm in the Boisfort and up into the headwaters of the Chehalis.

An inch of rain yesterday, ugh, and I went to sleep with wet hair after being out fiddling with waterproofing over the EEs and bailing water off the sheep's tarp (like me, he hasn't recovered from the ice storm, when I had to cut him out of his pen with scissors because the tarp had turned into a glacier).

When is the earliest you can determine if you have a roo or hen? With these 26 chicks I have a friend who wants to take some but she can only have hens and I don't want to give her any roos. Right now they are only a couple weeks old.

It really depends on the breed; I have Elvis the Hamburg because he was in a "I'm afraid this is a cockerel, please tell me I'm wrong" post at three weeks; I got the young BLRWs at about twelve weeks and had some bad moments thinking they were all cockerels; the EEs I wasn't sure of until they started laying/crowing.

And of course sexlinks are the opposites, and Barred Rocks can be roughly sexed at hatching.

Yeah, me too- but this spring has been endlessly complicated and I hadn't realized that it was already time for Stevenson. Rats. I really wanted to go, and to stay at one of the hot-springs spas for the weekend. Stupid reality.

I'm going stir-crazy here. Want to get out and do thing and see things. Fresh snow on the mountains every time I look out the window. Will winter ever end? Everything but my leg feels fine now so I end up overdoIng it one day and spending the next in bed watching movies and cursing myself for standing too long the prior. I wish they would just bind the bandages so tight that my leg can't fill with fluid when I stand. Despite my griping, my leg does look a lot better; I am just an impatient person. How does one learn patience? 5 months bed rest when pregnant with DD was a lot easier as there was a life that depended on it. Now I sit here angry with myself for letting my defences get so down that I could get this infection, and I want to get my lazy butt out of here and get back to taking care of things around here.

I am going to hire some kids from the HS football team to clean my coop twice per week, and fill the feeders and waterers and such. They put out an ad that they will do any kind of work for $10 an hour to raise $ for their team. I'm currently using a handyman for nearly 4x that price. I can get up and do stuff around the house for 30 min at a time a few times per day now, but I am paranoid of germs now and I am constantly cleaning things around me.

I watched a lot of movies/dvd's in the past few days... Gran Torino, Crash, Jeff Dunham, Premonition, Surf's Up, Chicken Run...
I need Don to go bring up our Cohen Brothers movies.

I have 2 Bantam Blue Laced Red Wyandotte Hens (Kamaria, Poppy Seed), 1 Bantam White Sultan Pullet (MoonSprite or Moone), 1 Standard Wheaten Ameraucana Pullet (Tytonidae or Tyto), and 1 Bantam Mille Fluer D 'Uccle Pullet (Rocky).

I live in southeastern washington : Walla Walla. Anyone live near here?
