Hi! We are new to the whole chicken thing and are now addicted! We have 6 in our flock and would like 2 more but don't really know where to go in our area ideally we would like a Welsummer or a Maran but I have my heart set on a Ameraucana or Araucana. We have really enjoyed our girls and sit out watching them while we have our morning coffee! We are looking in the Skagit, Whatcom, Snohomish or even in King counties. We have looked around but we want pullets about 15 to 20 weeks of age! Please if anyone knows i would really appreciate the info!

Thanks Washington Chicken lovers

Welcome to the WA thread. Please feel free to join in on the fun here. I hope that you can find your pullets. I would probably suggest the auction houses around the area. You just have to be careful about not bringing home sick birds.

This will be farewell from Stevenson. Seems either we survived the banquet or the banquet survived us. SO FAR but we ain't outta town yet!

It's very sad that the show is moving. I was hoping that at least once DH and I could come done too spend the weekend with friends in Carson, and get to see the show.

CR the booth looks great. I hope that the show was profitable too.

I am so jealous of everyone that got to spend time in the garden today.

I spent the day buying DH a new to him truck. He got a 2000 F-350. He is a happy camper, but I get to do the paper work. By the time I got home, all I could get done was make dinner. So I didn't get the garden cultivated, nor did I get the coop cleaned.I am hoping for good weather again tomorrow and maybe some things can get done around here.

Well dang, the roof is sealed on the new coop and is almost completed. Tomorrow for sure. What a great day it has been. I got most of the yard cut (old lawnmower was not impressed with my ambition. The old window from the shed cleaned up somewhat, but will have to look into having the fixed pane repaired as there is moisture between the panes.
If all goes well my girls will be in their palace on Mon, Tues latest.
Looks as though I have a roo in the group of eight. Any suggestions for a name? #1 one son has suggested Stu, I might go with it.

Yes the Fall PNPA show will be in Salem OR according to the announcement at the banquet.

Huh. I may have to go to that one. My parents live in Woodburn and my grand parents are in Salem. It would mean I would get to work in a visit with them too. But avoid having to hang out the whole time with them.

Or at least if they came to the show too, there would be other people there that I knew and get along with, hopefully.

Well, I went back exactly 2 pages, unable to go back to my last post, it was eons ago.
We have been working our tails off.
Yesterday we completely tore off all the plastic on the green house & all the wood holding it down, and redid it with the 'Solar Maxx' I ordered....It is now DONE and looks great !

And man was it ever hot in there !

Nice & clear !!!!!!!! The old stuff was just heavy construction type plastic & was super brittle and cracking apart & smoky-like.
New stuff lets in so much more light & is 10 mil thick & reinforced with strings throughout, very pliable & strong.

Now it is coop cleaning day....................and building a seperate run/shelter for mr Peeps the Tom turkey, I do not want him in the same pasture as the broody hens, which should have pips next Tuesday !

So we have to go pound T-Posts in & rig Mr Peeps up a corner for his own self.

Y'all have a happy sunny Sunday !
