I'm so SORRY you have to say goodbye to your little girl! she is so cute!!! Over the last two years Several people here have had to say goodbye to their beloved dogs. I get a tear in my eye each time, because I keep thinking I will be the next one to have to say goodbye. Even though she is still with me I KNOW the pain that you people have gone through

What are you going to do about your surgery ?

Thanks Ron - just can't stand to see her like this, and we will miss her so much. She was a terrific babysitter.

The surgery has been postponed until the end of summer! Woohoo! I got a shot of cortisone, and he said I could take the summer off, but it's the last time. So, I get to do summery things without too much pain and will do the p.t. during the icky winter months.

I'm sorry! We recently had to do the same with our lab. Heartbreaking. I know how you feel.

Well its time to upgrade the brooder for these chicks. They are 3 and 2 weeks old. The 3 week olds are getting a bit cramped in their current living conditions.

I want to put in some roosts for them. What is a good size for their age? Or do I jump right into a size that will work for when they are adults?

THANKS

Well, Ian has decided to do everything he can to convince me to let him find a new home: today he's taken the hanging feeder apart and eaten the washer and nut.

Stupid chicken. Wait, that's redundant, right?

I live in eastern WA on the Washington/Idaho boarder and I'm looking for some show quality white cornish. If any body on this side of the state have any hatching eggs or adult bird they would like to sell please PM me.

Take juicy fruit gum cutting it up into small pieces the moles can eat.
Place in many holes uncovering the hole if you have to.
Give it a week or so may have to do it again in another week to get someone not there at the time but for the price of a pack of gum they will be eliminated.
They can't digest the gum and die.
The industry doesn't want you to know this so they can sell you more expensive traps and smoke sticks.

Greg
Has the gum trick worked for YOU ?? I have heard that it doesn't work. I have never talked to anyone that had it work. You would be the first. I think the traps are suppose to be illegal now. but the Hardware stores still sell them. I Know someone who has caught over 50 moles over the last three years with that scissor trap

That last heavy rain plus the dating activities of moles

Greg, I don't have the time nor the money to deal with the number of molehills on forty sandy acres. What I need to do is have the pieces I already own put together to stop the erosion down hill of my house: I've got two styrofoam floats for footingss and sufficient concrete to put up a wall taller than I need. What I don't have is muscle, time, or money.

Ron. Yes, worked very well. Was so happy. We were in the store and I was explaining to my Wife about a mint mixture you make boiling it with water and pour it down the holes. Problem is all it does is drive them into your neighbors yard which means they will eventually come back. A Woman near by overheard the conversation and told me about the gum. I went home googled it and sure enough it had worked for others so I did it and it's been great ever since. Got to make sure pieces are small enough. I placed whether it makes a difference no idea but at least pieces down each hole. So happy I will only need to deal with them when one comes from the neighbors now. They not only steal crops but can do considerable damage to what was once a flat area if they get entrenched enough.

SF, I'd kill the ones in the area you most work in.
There is no need to go to every hole.
Go to the fresh ones to place the gum in.
Over time during your travels you can fill in the holes where you work the most.
