I'll help you (and 'cause we are friends you don't get to pay me) AND I'll bring a spinach salad.
I see that Kim's up for it and so is Dawn and so is someone else that I don't personally know.
Sounds like a work party to me!
You want to wait til it's warmer and dried out a bit.
What does the weekend of May 26 - 27 look like for you? (Dawn and I are free that weekend.)
Other friends - would that work for you?

Monique - I know I'm not your mamma, but you keep your self healthy now, you hear?

Turkeys......they WILL eat shavings & it can kill them.
I never had any trouble with meaties eating shavings, as dumb as they appear, they seem to know what food is, unlike turkeys.
So is nature bedding ok? They are like wood pellets. When its wet it turns to sawdust. I got shavings for the first time a couple of weeks ago and one of my red broiler chicks tried to eat them and got stuck in its throat an died. I think after this bale I will stick to natures bedding and straw. I never had turkeys so thanks for your help.

I was under the impression that 'they' only sent those info forms to folks with acerage in rural areas.how on earth did they 'find' you Ogress when you live in a developed comminity ?
Most of the lots in my neighborhood are 5 acres, some up to 20, and you are allowed to have cows here (but neighborhood CC&R's specify only for your own use - raise them to sell for cash constitutes "own use", doesn't it? After all, you need the cash to pay our ridiculous property taxes!) We have the smallest lot, it is about 3.25 acres, but it is nearly surrounded by greenbelts and wildlife buffers which I guess are owned by the entire neighborhood.

I have all the stuff and recipe for those bath bomb thingies......and it is all in storage in CA.......plus I have no tub now.....
sad.png
...............just a shower.
But I love(d) the way the bath bombs fizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and make such a great smelling bathtub to relax in.

I would reall y really like some real old fashioned lye soap like the recipe that used to be on the Red Devil Lye cans...............big blocky bars...love lye soap !!

Thats the only kind I make lye soap, I just dont use water only milk. If you can find that recipe maybe this summer I can make some up for ya.

I'm looking at that same weekend - I'm thinking it will work. I have to check a couple things, Olivia leaves to go to Lake Crescent for 4 days with her 5th grade class on the following Monday. I was supposed to go to, but the Dr. nixed it because of the daily 5 mile hike. Always stumped me - we live in one of the rainiest towns in Washington, I think second only to Forks (and sometimes we beat them too). Why doesn't the school choose a camp on the dry side of the mountains? It'd be an entirely different eco-system to study, and much closer too.

I'll cook up a bunch of easy to make foods (or have one of my friends here who is an awsome cook do that job) and then you can all make yourselves some jewelry before you go home since you won't let me pay you. I like the work party idea - I'll gladly help with others coops in return.

Thanks fr the post Greg,

I am going to try and go to this. I think my son, especially, will be interested.

Well we are preparing for a long day to the big Oregon Poultry Swap. I hope the weather is good and I am able to sell LOTS of stuff. See yesterday afternoon on my way home from town my truck decided to strand me at the fuel stop. Seems the truck felt that it needed more attention than the $70 of diesel I had just poured into it's belly. Ooooohh heck no that just wasn't enough it wanted a $152 replacement starter or we weren't moving anywhere. So I managed to bum a ride home. Cook dinner for DW. Bum a ride back to town and borrow $$ to bribe the truck with said new starter. Then of course I got to educate the guy at the parts store. Seems he had no clue how to use their test bench. You would think I would get some kind of discount for that but NOOOO ! After 4 hours I had the truck fixed and was headed home. Then time to pack. Oooop's looks like those few last minute items won't get finished. Oh yes and finally all done and ready to get up and going at 4:30am and look it was only 12:30am.
I kinda think it's gonna be a long day!
Oh man that just sucks. A little late but perhaps good for the future CR. Sometimes if you tap the starter with a hammer while another person tries to start the truck it will spin and start the truck. It work for me many times during my career as a long haul semi driver. Apparently when the starter/brushes age it sparks and then a light weld occurs preventing the starter to spin. Bummer you had to lay out the dinero but at least you were not stranded several 100 miles from home. Good luck in Oregon.
