Do you know what Scotsmen put in their meat pies - I do, having lived there . . .

Not beef & kidney ?
I think these ones being American Scots, probably do not use haggis............?

My Cuckoo Marans are getting so big. I need to get individual shots and get some help with which ones might be roos.
Should be very easy to tell.
Males are balder (especially on their backs) and much lighter in color with wider white bands & black bands.
Hens are darker & should be feathered evenly all over.
The males will also have a bigger comb already.

You all have been busy on here.

So my hubby is going to build me a greenhouse soon ( don't know why he cant help build me a little coop) but since he is I can hardly wait. OK I know its kind of late but I don't care I can still grow late into the season now so I'm a happy girl.

I put a add on Craig's list today,
I'm selling all the Wheaton Marans, the Coronations and splits Sussex's and most of my Black Orpingtions. If anyone is interested let me know. Oh I have some orp BCM mix's too they will head to the auction this weekend. I'm not sure how long I'm going to keep the other large birds, not long though.

So that will bring me down to my Fav birds, the BCM, English Orps BBS and than my Cream Legbar ( got to get the roo soon, even if the little girl is only a little over a week) than my buff silkies. ( they maybe on there way out if they don't start sharing eggs with me pretty soon!)

Well we are exhausted from yet another day or coop/bird/pen/brooder/garden/laundry & so on WORK.
I have spent $$$ gathering the needs for the giant lasagna, not o mention a tank of gas driving all over hill & dale shopping for all the stuff (try finding GF lasagna pasta)
We were all gathering at parents' in Elma, us being the farthest south in Raymond, and bro & sis in Puyallup, so parents' is a middle meet up place.
I am ready right now to make the lasagna (ground the pork yesterday & made sausage, made sauce today................
When I decide to check e-mails..
And there is one from Mom that says bro called her this morning & said we are having Mother's Day at his house SATURDAY instead of parents on Sunday and I am welcome to ride with parents to his house & bring my giant lasagna.
I told her NO.

In an e-mail.
Four days ago we made the arrangements for Sunday at their house !
I have spent DAYS working on this plus $$$

I have people coming for birds Friday & Saturday and Monday.
I kept Sunday open and that has been this way for 4 days.
We cannot go Saturday, so go without us.
Crap !!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOW RUDE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She does whatever my little whiney brother wants.
Mom has pulled this crap so many times !
His girlfriend's birthday is Feb 10th (just like mine) and as long as brother has been with this girlfriend, my Mother has gobe nuts making a BD party for her.

There is no way after all my $$$$$ and 3 days of work I am going to drive to Puyallup.
So, I ain't making lasagna after all.
The sauce & all will be frozen...all the cheese, basil & motzerella stored/frozen/put away....and the 3 boxes of GF lasagna pasta we drove to Aberdeen for will keep for next time.
I am so disgusted !
This is the last straw with my brother pulling this crap.

I hope you told her how much time and money you've spent.

And I would suggest that it's your mom pulling the crap, not bro....

I have had such good luck with the Baby Cake chick treat. So I got the forage cake for the big chickens. They tried a few pecks and left it on the floor. So I gave it to the nearly 3 month old chicks and same reaction. So.......Last night a bear got into my chicken treats, ate all my meal worms, ate the Baby Cake that I had stored, broke into the Forage Cake and it left it on the ground. I am not buying that again. Apparently it was 3 claws down and no one, not even the scavenger bear (who in years past has eaten potting soil) will eat it.
