Glad Babs seems to be doing better.. Hope her droopy wings are up and back to normal in no time!!!
That's what the girls and I call the way you hold a chicken for 4-H fairs. Palm up supporting the breast, middle finger between legs, index and ring fingers around outside of legs (legs are hanging down--this provides some security for holding on). Other hand over the top of the back, securing the wings. Bird is held close to your body. What is the fair hold?

We are still learning this, so I wonder what changes as the birds grow, say, to Orpington, Cochin and Jersey Giant size? That doesn't concern us now because the girls are too little show those breeds.
We pretty much finished up our Chicken Coop project yesterday (Repairs & Run)-- YAY!
Minus a couple little things we need to do, but least we were able to get them in - Sadly it's raining today now, so they cant go outside =(
So here's the Finished Coop-
Chicken Run area - 10x12
Inside the Coop 10x14... Left side will be nesting boxes when they are at that point
They LOVE the amount of space they have to Run & Exercise
Barred Rock was the first one out - Followed by a couple others - Rest were too Chicken to go out...hahaha
so far, they are very much enjoying the "space" they have to play around in & do what they do =)
X2Beautiful looking coop and run !!!! I see one problem MAYBE !!! I don't think you'll find your flock on the roost ladder on the right at night! I bet they will be on the top shelf on the left! they always look for the highest place. the bottom rung on the ladder is to low in my opinion
