Is this a crazy idea?
I've been reading a lot about rehabilitating chickens. Many sites recommend putting one or two calm chickens in with the injured one to keep her company. Neither my EE nor my RIR fit that description!
This past week, I've been playing chicken and have had to be with her all the time. I walk away and she goes nuts. I have to sit with her until she goes to sleep, and good heaven, that bird wakes up early!
This morning, as I was woken up a LOT earlier than I wanted to be, I got to thinking, now that she's going to spend more time in her hospital cage and less time in her chair, maybe I should get some chicks to put in with her. I can have up to 6 chickens and right now I only have 3. Good idea? Bad idea? Would I add 1? 2? or 3? Or none at all?
I'm thinking chicks because chicks have a much softer temperment than chickens their current age (7 weeks). I don't want to get anything that would be mean to my lil girl.
My Light Brahma's temperment has always been to sit back and watch what's going on around her. She never gets involved in the ruckus the other two do. She's very easy going.
