How can I not be inspired?

I did have help on the name; I'd been struggling for a couple months and nothing felt right. When a friend mentioned the list we'd made to her husband - which had many things chicken and bubbly - he is the one that suggested Sudsy Chick. I LOVE it - the name is so me!

Too bad soap takes four weeks to cure - I have some mint, lavender, and wake-up rosemary blend soap and shampoo bars that will be done in 2-4 weeks =) When I cut the mint soap yesterday, it smelled sooo good!

Hi everyone! I need some HELP! I have a 5 week old chicken that is getting her feathers plucked out by the other 5 week old chickens. She does have a bloody spot on her tail feathers and they have plucked her back as well. I tried to put her in her house but didnt want to be alone. I also put her in a box and she just got out anyway. Should I force her to be away from everyone? How should I treat her blood and what should I do?? This is my first time with chickens so I read so many things I am not sure which is the best option. They are outside the coop is 4x4 and the run is 4x8. Any ideas/suggestions are much appriciated!!

Hi I'm from enumclaw WA. I currently have 2 Polish, 1 black frizzled,1 white Cochin, 1 golden sebright, 1 unknown, 1 mama red Cochin and her 8 baby Cochin/d'unccle mix babies. Haha and no more space!

Hey, I was wondering if anyone near me (Kitsap County) had any BLRW or Black Copper Maran hens/pullets/chicks/eggs. I've always wanted BLRW hens, beautiful birds! And I'd love to add some chocolate eggs to our basket. Really prefer hens or pullets or sexed chicks since Bob and Snowman rule their harems quite well alone :)

PM me if you have or know someone who does have some around here. They seem to be exceedingly rare, especially the BLRWs.

My youngest DD just got back from 5th grade camp last week in your neck of the woods at Camp Waskowitz. She had a blast!!!
I love that place! As the crow flies, it is less tha 2 miles from my house, just down the hill from me; but I have to drive 8 miles to get there because the roads all end before they get there!

Alex loves to attend the Peter Fewing soccer camps there. Peter and his staff are great! Usually because of his high functioning autism, he stands out as an odd kid and gets teased. At the soccer camp, they treat hime like a star, and all the kids pick up on how the staff treats him, and he becomes quite popular! I'll never forget the first time I went to pick him up (I let him do the overnight soccer camps there). Because of how tall Alex is, they had him on a team with the older kids, and when I went to pick him up, his team mates were passing him around abover their heads, and he was holding a golden soccer ball that his team won. I found his pockets stuffed with post-its with girls phone numbers on them. The girls were writing him notes asking him to call them and stuffing them in his pockets! The kids are kept so active at that camp, they don't have the time nor the energy left to tease and get into trouble.

Hope everyone is well! I'm like 50 pages behind this time! So hard to keep up here these days with all there is to do outside!!!!

I'm an achy girl after putting in the rest of my veggie garden and helping DH clean up his HUGE weedwacking mess this weekend which entailed me raking a ton of stuff and loading it into the tractor wagon and hauling it off, again and again and again. I have blisters!!! Also took down two old decrepid veggie beds in the backyard and turned them into another blueberry patch. Planted 16 blueberry bushes and have 12 of those new Pink Blueberry bushes on order.

Trying to catch up on housework today as my mom is flying in tomorrow night for a week to watch the girls while DH and I go to Cabo for a quick 4 day anniversary get-away!!!
I planted 3 pink blueberry bushes last year, but the plants are much smaller than my established berries, so the chickens have stripped them of their leaves. I need to move them. ( had 38 blueberry bushes, lots of different varieties. Last year I aske DH to remove the blackberry vines from the blueberry patch and he did so with the riding lawnmower, mowing over about one dozen blueberry bushes.

Have fun in Cabo!

If you ever need herb cuttings, let me knw. I have a lot of herbs growing in my yard, some I no longer know the names of, but the smell so good.... chocolate mint, savory, thyme, lavender, rosemary, sage, catnip ....

sometimes it you put bluekote on the red, the pecking will stop. I had some issues 2 years ago with my first chicks, and I had to pull the most aggressive one out and I carried her around with me for a few hours. It settled our problems, and she is now the friendliest of all my hens!
