Quote: Thanks! They are settling in greatly! I never had a single problem with any of them, no one argued once. It was great!! Calypso is the Red, and she is the sweetest, all she wants is to be held and snuggled with. That or to sit on your shoulder. I keep telling her I have things to do and she just ruffles her feathers pulls a couple of my hairs out and settles back down on my shoulder. Apparently that is her way of telling me to bad. Ha Ha! The other two are more shy but are calm when you hold them. They just would prefer you left them alone. LOL! Here they all are.
The newest are the ones standing, Blueberry is in front, the reddish one is Calypso and the wyandotte is Splash..

are you allowed roos by law? If so - too bad for them =) If you aren't able to...well...darn it. I keep thinking of these four or five cockerel-looking chicks; I do so wish I could keep one boy! Just one! LOL The dogs behind us are FAR louder than our chickens (roosters even) could ever be.
From what I have been told it isn't legal to have a roo, but I don't know that for sure. Animal Control in Enumclaw is the same as it is in King County. It seems that a person in unincorporated King County should be able to have roos if they want them.

But I really don't want to tick off neighbors and have animal control come to the house. I have too many animals and it would be expensive to get licensed as a kennel. I also have way more chickens than anyone else in the neighborhood. So in the interest of neighbor relations I will part with the roo and a couple hens.
So out of curiosity, does anyone know the laws for unincorporated King county? Especially if you live on 4.5 acres zones for farm animals?

It's easier to beg forgiveness than to seek and receive permission! ! !

That's my stance with Pierce County. No one lives close enough to me to care either. Finding info from the county can be a pain in the rear.

Neighbor across from us and one next to us suggested we plant more trees so the assessor can't see as much. Last owner cut down all the trees up front. They also said it is much easier, and about the same price if they catch you on outbuildings, to beg for the forgiveness.

And from what I thought I'd read, Pierce County changed the setback from 45 feet to 15 feet last year. Not sure where to double check that.

Just found out the details of going from Gold Feather to Platinum:

https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/byc-memberships-help-support-backyardchickens

Also explains the various memberships if any of you are interested.

We had a blast yesterday & got to shake hands with & meet Ed Beagley Jr...what a fun show he has "Livingwith Ed" with his wife.
Wish we still had Direct TV, all channels are free (one cost) but with Comcast, each teir of channels costs more.
Cost us another $20 a month or some thing just to have the one "green" channel !!!

Howdy to any who may have been MIA for a while! Hope all is good for ya.

Talk about perfect timing. Trying to get ready for our first dune trip in 2 years and I have just come down with a nasty head cold. Feels like my head is gonna splode and I'm in a fog worse than normal.
DANG IT JIM ! ! !

Hello y'all!!!

Just had a few minutes to check in on the most wonderful peeps in the world! Hope everyone is doing great and is happy and healthy!

We have been sooooo busy! In fact we have been so busy that we didn't go out to collect eggs and now both Blackie & Booger are sharing a nest! And yep....I candled them last weekend and we have baby webbed swimmers kicking in those eggs! Anyone want black or blue runner ducklings in about 2 weeks? :lau

My parents are coming up from Mexico this week and will be staying with me. Then I will be going down there with them in July. I hope that they bring some sunshine up with them!!

Both of my DD's made the cheer squad again. This will now be their 10th year of cheering! This is their senior year so they will also be the co-captains of the squad. On top of Kayla being the Area 7 DECA president, this will be yet another busy summer for us! :th

If anyone wants/needs to get ahold of me please feel free to text me! That is the quickest and easiest way to contact me!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!!! Miss you!!!!! :love :hugs :frow
