Argh! I'm sooooo bored...where is everyone?!  I've had 1 or 2 clingy sick kids on me all day long and now we're all just sitting here doing nothing. If I get up, he screams. If I talk to him, he screams. If I offer him food, he screams. Wowza. HFM disease sucks! Poor boy.

Be carefull with the HFM virus.... you could be a carrier now.

Gah! I SO want to get some more chickens. It's a horrible horrible sickness, that chicken math!! I am definitely getting Dawn's EE roo and possibly another suspected pullet that could be a roo, and I know I want chicks again. Wondering if I ought to wait until next year for chicks...either my own from our own broodies in the spring, or buy them. If you had to pick, would you let a broody raise some chicks or do you prefer to buy chicks from reliable sources? I don't know if I ever want the responsibility of hatching chicks or babysitting a broody.

I did -- twice. Russian was 1992-93 and Turbo-Serbo was 1996. I spent 1997 in Bosnia/Hungry actually doing the job.

I took 1 year of french in high school ; I can say what my name is and count to ten.. lol

Then I took 2 years of spanish in high school and 1 quarter in college. I really want to be more proficient in the language than I am. Concidering I am in Pasco and Love Love Love to go shopping in the little hispanic stores downtown. Now to find a good Zapateria (shoe store) I will be thrilled.. Until then I will satisfy myself with my baby birdy's.

I got to see the 2 indian runner's we gave away. They are loving their new home and their new friend. A Rouen duck. they have a little pond just for them to play in with a waterfall and everything. Can we say spoiled? LOL. But it makes me happy that they are doing so well.

Been thinking about finding our banty a new home now that she lost her friend. The LF girls pick on her a lot.

Managed to help hatch my Silkie/EE cross. But it looks like the head is deformed. =( So we shall see. we lost power during this hatch so that might have contribute it. still waiting on my silkie. Also had to help it out but letting it do the push out. My Little tiny chick is doing awesome.

Oh no, I hope she is not deformed! 6 of the eggs I bought from you hatched and there were still two under my broody, but she kicked them out. So I opened them to take a look and one POPed open one my table. EEEEwwww crud what a smell.

Thanks FM! They're all asleep now...we'll see how long it lasts for younger DS, he's a mess! I figure BOTH Tylenol and Motrin oughtta keep him knocked out a good long while to help him feel better though. Now I'm trying to REALLY MAKE 100% SURE Martha is a girl...I'm STILL not convinced. Why is she so much bigger than everyone else? Her legs are like tree branches! LOL

Sad news...the second chick didn't hatch. It looks like Juno tried to help her out, which is why I thought she had pipped, but when I opened it up it looks as if she stopped developing part way through.

Now I have a lone baby and a hen that is still sitting - on nothing. Hopefully she'll come out tomorrow.
