Id like to find a home for my golden laced polish rooster. I dont know why, but all the others pick on him and hes never been able to grow his hat feathers in all the way and his poor tail is always picked at.

I just have way too many roosters.

My cochins do the most damage, but since they are my kids favorite, they stay.

If anyone is interested, please PM me

Yes, that does make sense. We'll have to mess around out there and see what we can come up with. Fortunately, we're building on the grass, and we plan to move everything into place, so we can continue working on the run while we try to figure out what to do with the ground. My kids will have to walk their bikes through a thin area between the run and the house, we don't want any scratched up legs or popped tires.

Here's what I'd do regarding the wire and the gate.

I'd slice off the sod where the apron would interfere with the opening of the gate. Then I'd put down the wire apron (I use 1/2" hardware cloth, not the 2x4 wire that CL showed us in her photos), then I'd put the sod back. Heck, if you have access to a sod cutter, you could do that around the entire run - I think that would be quick and easy, and you'd not have to wait for the grass to grow over/through the wire apron.

We had a crazy thinderstorm with high winds here on Saturday, It was only 48 degrees! A HUGE thick limb came off someones fir tree and landed across my dog shed. I have lots of fir trees, but none big enough for the branch hat is on the shed. I wonder where it came from? Tree branches were downed everywhere

A few hours after the storm, I was driving down the road and a newborn fawn came running straight toward me. It wasnot at all spooked by my car, but it had no mamma in sight. Poor little deer was probably spooked by the freak storm and became separated from its mom. I opened the car door, and the fawn turned and ran down the neighbors driveway. I called to let them know. I don't know what became of it.

he was really hurting !
Ouch, poor guy. I worked for a vet back in 96' & had to help take them out of a Rottie that looked like Santa, wasn't fun for the techs, kennel asistant or the dog. Hope he doesn't have them in his mouth.
