Right now my girls have access to 18% starter/grower feed, water, and grit. And they free-range most of the day in the half acre backyard. When do I need to start providing oyster shell and/or egg shells? I had heard it's good to put it out with the first egg.
Some feeds have everything your birds need so ck with the bag and see. I don't give my girls anything and they are nice and healthy and have nice strong eggs. Yes most of mine free range also.

Dad died last night.

Howdy and welcome. You have found a great bunch of peeps here. LOTS of good information, answers to questions and plenty of help when and where possible.

This also goes out to any other new peeps I may have overlooked lately.

My "DH" just drove home drunk. I am beyond livid. This is not like him and I don't know what the he** he was thinking. And he drove his drinking buddy home too! Just the thought of putting his friend in danger and all the rest of those on the road-oh my God the more I think about it the angrier I am getting.

Thank God I am taking the kids down to Oregon tomorrow, because I don't even want to be in the same room with him for at least a week. He won't even remember a word I said to him tonight, which wasn't much because I will wait until tomorrow. But I did tell him if he ever ends up in jail on a DUI that he'll stay there.

Now I am listening to him re-experience everything he drank. I hope it was frickin worth it. I am absolutely disgusted with his behavior right now.

I would be livid to. I don't remember who she is but someone on this thread that had the same thing happen to her except her husband got into a wreck. Caused a lot of problems for them.

Edit: Word change. Sorry BYC I did not know that word was frowned upon in this establishment.

Z,

I am hoping to make one this weekend so I can get an idea of the materials and effort required. I think that they are not too difficult once you get the mechanics down. I'll be sure to post here once I've finished the first one.

Then we just have to figure out how to 'deliver' them :)

Thank you so much, I think the hardest part also could be the weight per birds, if people want smaller birds to eat from it,it will take more weight on the board to help raise it ( I think )

Quote: I have been wondering about the delivery part and was thinking if they could be in panels that were easy to bolt/screw together. it may make it easier to haul them like in the trunk or so that many could be hauled at once like in an SUV. Just an idea but being the awesome wood worker VF is I am sure he probably has this all figured out too.
