Migraines are the worst I have had chronic migraines for years... Have you tried caffeine? Sipping on coffee or soda helps me sometimes.... Hope you feel better soon.

I have been wondering if caffeine kicks them off (or the fact that I usually only drink caffeine when I'm extremely tired). I'm exhausted... still recovering from back-to-back activities. We pushed hard for a couple of weeks to get our coop/run done... finished the night before camping. Then, our 5-day camping trip which is a lot of work because we're tent campers, and we took the boat out of storage, followed by my working our 4-day Cub Scout camp in the hot sun. This morning I was so tired I drank coffee, which I rarely do. Within an hour or so, the migraine started coming on. Maybe it is just because I'm so physically spent.

Now that the sun is down and I'm in a dark room, I'm feeling better. Thank goodness.

Oh, thanks a lot Imp, the visual on those "treats" gives me a funny tummy feeling....

Quote: I figured 3-4 Silkies could live full time in the tractor. If they have a larger outdoor space I feel comfortable fudging a little on the sleeping area. The "run" area under the tractor is 4x8. So 4 silkies might be a little tight, but 3 would be good. They can't free range like LF because all kinds of hawks large and small see them as an easy meal.

I have seen a dog run at Costco, 10x10 with a cover, for like around $450ish. A converted dog house works well for Silkies.

Just sayin.

Oh! And Robin - do you need any linoleum for your coop floor? My sister gave me a nice big piece of pretty white with a square pattern and I have a lot left - plenty for your VF coop!
No worries Dana, they're doing fine here. I bought an enormous plastic bin at IKEA for a brooder and they've still got plenty of space.

Thanks for the offer of linoleum too! I might just take you up on it.

Hi everyone, gosh it just took me a whle to catch up...and it's been so slow here I didn't expect to have to read over much after church today! LOL.

CR - thanks for your post. I've been obsessing. And then feeling guilty in the morning for not letting everyone out of the coop before 9am. But I still have open areas near my rafters in the run that a coon could easily get into and kill my whole flock! I'm thinking about chancing it for a while and stopping all the fuss about closing up the run and coop every night, but then if I got a coon to kill some birds I know I'd be so upset over ANY loss. Don't know what to do, DH is done working on the chicken stuff.
Keep in mind that all of my coops / runs are enclosed. Mostly with chicken wire but some of my top covers are fishing net. While they are fairly secure there is still a chance of an attack. I have had one (what I believe was) hawk attack. while it did hit the wire and push it down a long way there was no entry and no harm to my birds.

True Migraines are caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. You need to see a neurologist. And you may be asking how do I know? I HAD them for several years. I sometimes got 4-5 a week. They kept me from work and driving. I was panicked with the headaches and Dr's telling me try this med and that. See I had just lost my dad to a brain tumor and his symptoms were very similar. I finally got a Dr. that sent me to a Neuro. He did tests told me what it was and put me on daily preventative meds. I have no problem now. Well with migraines!
