It is nice to see so many fellow chicken keepers in Washington! We live in bothell. We have one barnyard mix frizzle Banty hen(Cleopatra), one SQ Serama hen by the name of May(hopefully more seramas in the future), three parakeets, two green cheek conures, a Holland Lop bunny, five pedigreed Italian Greyhounds from show bloodlines, and a very tolerant mother and sister. Chickens make life interesting. I may be going to the Winter Classic in October.

OMG!!!!! Did I Miss something????????????

I just was in the store They had a 5 gallon bucket of BOSS that was damaged and were selling it for $8.00.. so I figured I could use it up. I go thru the cashier line and the lady asked me what kind of birds I was feeding? I smiled and said "its for my chickens". She flipped out!!!!!

She said "That is for BIRDS... not chickens.... Chickens eat chicken food"

Apparently she's missing the fact that chickens are birds too?

Maybe you should have told her the seeds were being served at the next football party as people snacks!

Pure Breed: is a breed that has had years and years of work to develop a standard of definition of that breed. This could be size, laying, color, personality, meat, dual purpose, etc....

Thanks so much for explaining the whole breeding process. I learned a lot! Nice to see a positive, informative post on this topic.

Hey I had a nice surprise today. T HI contacted me and ask if we could meet her at Spiffy's. We went up had lunch and a nice visit. Seems her and her friend were on their way home from visiting said friends family in Idaho. Toni was so kind as to remember from a conversation looong ago that I love me some Hermiston watermelon. She stopped at a fruit stand in Hermiston and brought me a watermelon! !!!!

See this is eggsactly what I mean when I say my BYC family knows things that my mother's daughter has no clue about.

Hope this doesn't bother anyone, figured y'all like pics so I'll share some of vacation time w the fam. We are staying at Arrow Point World Mark Resort on Lake Coeur d'Alene, ID. The weather is amazing over here compared to the wet side (which I will forever hate). We've been hiking, swimming, and exploring. The kids all got sick so we are trying to rest a lot too!

Very nice I like to see people on here share glimpses of their life. I am pretty sure there are others who will agree. Because (in a silly singing voice) we are famileee !! well most of us. I think some may prefer not to be and that is ok !!
