So when is the barn raising mama?

A good Fall potluck is just what we all need! Then the newer peeps will get to meet all the crazy folks! And if they make their own thread after meeting us I would NOT be shocked!! :D I hope y'all stick around!! But just a warning---- your therapist bill will sky rocket! :lau

You should be able to. Do you see this when you do a reply???

Oh ya, I have all of them, I just haven't had the right opportunity to use that particular one. Trust me though, the second the timing is right, I just might stick him in there multiple times just because I can!!

The scary part is they are too close to me and I (think) I heard on the radio that chicks are bogo. That could really spell trouble!!!!

You are close to the Kelso/Longview area? I googled your city (Ethel) to see how far I'd have to drive if I wanted any of the Bantams you listed and it said you were 4hrs away! If your close then I would be super stooked! DH said, there's no way I'm drivin 4hrs for a chicken! Gotta love him though, lord knows he's been very supportive of all my critter hobbies.

To all the newer peeps
DO NOT FEEL LEFT OUT OR SKIPPED OVER!!!! At least you guys all like those goofy feathered things! Some of us on here don't knowz a ting about dem shicken tings!! ( spelling was intentional!)

Only thing dem shickens are goodz for is eatin!

Now beautiful, magestic, kind, sweet, angelic ducks! There's the ticket!!

I have ducks, I have ducks!!!! 3 Swedish Blues. A drake named Muggs, a sex unknown named D duck, until we figure it out, then it'll either be Daisy or Donald and a shy little girl named Apple. They are so fun to watch, I just wish I would've spent more hands on time with them when they were ducklings so they wouldn't be so skittish of us.

Ok I finally caught up...good grief it took hours !
I am supposed to be playing with plywood right now~~~~~~~~
Went to the flooring store and picked out flooring so we have a bid on that now...and got the bid for siding, so I can add up costs for a balance we need to submit for the Owner/Building loan to get "buttoned up" before fall rains get here (hopefully!)

Got my R/C Light Brown Leghorn eggs this morning & they look like their air cells are in better shape than last shipment, and will be set tonight with assorted Blue Copper marans eggs under the Crele Chantecler...will be interesting to get a crele "marans" type dark egg layer....CLOVER LEAF made me do it.

But as long as the incubator is on, and holds 216 eggs, why not add a few extras ??????????

You can get into serious trouble very fast with a cabinet incubator !!!
Outside of that, more work to do on the stairs in the house, and tomorrow is butcher day for the Cornish X cockerels, next week end for the pullets as they are a tad smaller than the males.

OK, HI TO EVERYONE & talk to ya all later !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great to see T-Hi and CCG and Cheryl back again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well T, you can always take a day trip and come play with my baby! lol I bet even your girls would enjoy coming out here! I have 3 great horses for older kids to play with! lol

You dont need a baby of your own, you just need one to borrow so you can have your baby fix!

So I got back on here to post pics of my three hatchery stock.... (but, man, this thread is movin' today!)

Here's my girls - the same three in my avatar. Sorry the pictures aren't very good. I took them this morning. They are 20 weeks old (I think, I lost count). They're not in the mood to pose for me. It seems whenever I come out with a camera, they dive into the bushes.

They are Reber Ranch babies...

Caunnie - my EE. Not laying yet...

Ignore the lousy corn. We were gone to Idaho & Yellowstone for 12 days during the hottest days - I'm about ready to pull it all out. It looks bad. But, I haven't pulled it out yet because the chickens love to play in it.

Drama - my Light Brahma. She probably won't lay for quite a few more months. She's still a young-un in the Brahma world. She might not lay until next Spring. She's not showing much in the way of turning red yet. And, her feathers are still coming in. She looks a ruffled mess quite often (but an adorable ruffled mess!

). She's so funny looking when she runs. You can't help but laugh! And, she's FINALLY learning to fly. She gets a little bit of air now!

Rhodie, my Rhode Island Red - who didn't want her picture taken to save her life! She is my only layer. She has laid 1 each day for the past 5 days. She's laid 8 total.

This is what you can expect from $2.50 birds from Reber Ranch. I'm happy with them. I'm sure they probably have quite a few flaws if compared to the SOP.
