Well now. Apparently some of my girls have forgotten our last little discussion we had about 4 eggs or less per day. I guess now I will have to have a little show and tell to see if I can get them motivated.
Show and tell; you know, show them the sharp hatchet and tell them to shape up or ...............................

Yeah we have a lesson like that here. It's called "what's for dinner?? Slackers"

Quote: Hmmm, I realize of the six Ameraucanas I bought at the poultry show in March, four were boys too! It will be interesting to see if my Silkies are the same. I'll just be annoyed if I don't get a single blue female out of the bunch!

I currently have 2 blue B Am pullets for sale if you want B's

How old are they? And B means Bantam? Just wondering...
Sorry YES B is bantam. These were hatched June 20 so are right at 10 weeks now and the little cockerel is trying to crow!! Asking $15 each for the pullets and $10 for the cockerel

We came home to a flea infestation. Had it been the chickens I would have treated it and been able to sleep. Nope, it's the freaking cat and the whole house and I've been vacuuming for over an hour, spraying flea spray all over the bedroom, and coating every last carpet with flea powder. We taped off and sealed the downstairs basement too and are bombing it now. What a mess, I'm really ticked off that we had to come home to this. We knew the cat had a few when we left and DH was being bitten but apparently my vacuuming was the only thing keeping them under control before we left for a week and let them take over the house. At least we treated the cat before we left. Ugh!!!!!!!!!

Ok thanks CR I think I have to pass though. Too bad they aren't older because I really love Ameraucanas but my flock is mean and would try to kill them :( I'm gonna have to wait for a broody and give her eggs or chicks to acquire any newbies I think, unless they're full grown and bigger/tougher than mine.

Mine is usually stress, lack of sleep, dehydration and/or lack of caffeine. :)
Hope it gets better. I feel for ya girl mine were (before daily meds) so bad that I would toss my cookies, couldn't work or drive and struggled to walk somewhat normal. Now I am on the level and do VERY well. FYI for any body needing serious help. Ask your Dr. about Depakote.

I do have one Lav and one black split that are about 1 year. The black took reserve in theyouth class in Stevenson in October.

Sure give us a try most we can do is not comment. Which (believe it or not) I some times do if I don't have anything to say and sorry I just am not really a children type guy but please feel free to post for others to enjoy. No offense but children are one of the things that I just really don't know how to interact about/with.

Oh, I wouldn't be too worried about posting pics of my son. Although I don't have any with him and chickens, so I haven't put any up. I meant posting pics of my reptiles. I've met people who have been terrified just looking at a picture of a lizard! I love my animals and I am proud to own them, but as a reptile keeper I've learned the harsh lesson that openly showing the animals that I love to the public just leads to more unfair restrictions on my owning them. If anyone is seriously interested in seeing them, I am on Facebook and I can post my full name if you'd like to friend me and look at my photos. (Sorry, I haven't had the time to set up a flickr page or anything like that.)

Oh wait! There are some pics online of me with some of my animals. Here is one taken at an educational outreach at a library, with one of my favorite snakes. I still have her, 6 years later.

I just saw the start of 11pm news. It is rather upsetting to know that a man has been murdered, only 5 blocks from where my daughter lives in Seattle. It was a drive by shooting, and house was hit with bullets.
