On the subject of nightmares, most of mine include me being in the ocean with sharks around me. I've had many of these. Sharks are very intriguing to me but I think being in the water with any huge creature kinda freaks me out. I think it's because I'm not the most confident swimmer and I feel vulnerable in the water!

Jessica,
You are not that far from me.
I don't know Covington well, but I'm on the Kent East Hill plateau, all the way to the Renton end, just off the Benson Hwy, on Benson Hill.
I only know Covington a bit- I go up Kent Kangley to the Walmart business district area occasionally. Often in Kent East Hill shopping.

You would be considered SE King County.
Or loosely the Eastside, of Lake Washington. Not to be confused with the eastside of the mountains.
Or the also loosely the South End.

If details could be worked out I might be interested in a meet up. I'm very centrally located so could do just about anythuing from Everett to Tacoma, and if it works out maybe provide a ride to others. I know a few don't drive.

The first time I ever saw a Wolf spider; I was in Ballard. It crawled up the back of a chair onto my shoulder. I noticed something black out of the corner of my eye, but didn't look for a few minutes. When I did I screamed like a banshee. I caught it and took it to an exterminator. Telling the guy I had Tartantulas. He eventually stopped laughing and clued me in. That darn house was infested with huge Wolf Spiders. I have since made peace with spiders. But I am glad I find very few inside. I give credit to the cats.

They can scare the daylights outta you !

Yes that's Spiffy's the one I mentioned. Funny thing is the ONLY time we go there is when my poultry pals stop by. Or Maybe we could find somebody about 20 miles N who has a yard and may consider hosting. I could but we do have a very small house. If the weather is good I have plenty of nice brown yard.
I agree, I have thought it would be far more fun to do a get together coop tour at the same time, and maybe the next time at someone elses' home ?
POT LUCK ????

Yes, that's the place I was thinking of.
When we meet up with CR we either go to his house or DH eats the pizza at the gas station next to Spiffy's....I cannot eat in a restaurant, so I bring my own lunch.
A pot luck has resulted......cuz I can only eat my food created with no Gluten or gluten contaminated utensils, chopping blocks, etc.

Today was a very educational day for me too. I learned not only do I not really like painting. I am rather dangerous at it. See I have been doing some remodeling in our bath room. Well today was painting day. I carefully masked off the new tub surround, new window, new vanity, new floor and toilet. I had painted all the blue walls and was doing the white trim. Well I was up near the ceiling when the brush slipped out of my hand in my attempt to keep it from falling and making a mess ( I shoulda let it fall) the brush bounced off the wall 4 times before hitting the floor spinning like the blades of a helicopter knocking the drop cloth away and spreading white paint all over the floor.

Okay, he's going on Craigslist later today, but I'm offering him to WA BYC'ers at a discounted price. "Mr. Darcy" our blue 100% imported English Orpington needs to find a new home. I want to get his girls integrated into the main flock and he seems to be preventing that by being the leader of his own little trio.

I've been taking him into the garage at night so he doesn't bother the neighbors in the morning with his melodic deep, throaty crow. Once he rejoins the flock, he only crows 3 or 4 times. I did discover this morning however, if another group of birds is being given treats and he feels he's being denied, that he will crow in protest. It was kind of funny.

When I carry him into the garage at night, he's unhappy about being snatched from the girls out of the darkness but settles easily with a little petting and sweet talk.

I'm quite fond of him. He would be a great addition to anyone's flock, but it would be nice if he had some Orpington girls to be with. Although he is protective, he has never been aggressive. At 4 months he is larger than any of my other LF and still has a lot of growing and filling out to do. I think he's beautiful.
PM me if interested - I'd love to see him go to someone local so I can keep track of his progress!

Mr. Darcy, a little suspicious...

Keeping himself between me and "his girls"

Feeling a little less threatened

I have always had happy dreams about spiders, lol. Especially when I worked for a business that sold and bred tarantulas for the pet trade. I would dream of cute, fuzzy, brightly colored spiders. Now centipedes are another story. I've had a couple of really bad dreams about the big Scolopendra 'pedes. They're the sort of critters that you should be afraid of. I made sure to get rid of all of the centipedes that I owned before I had my son. I still have some tarantulas, and my son thinks they are cool.

10 years ago my darling daughter got a tarantula.............and that thing was more like an animal than a bug.
I was always afraid I would step on it and hear the CRUNCH !!!!!!!!!!
It wouls sit on the back of the couch motionless for hours...then JUMP 6 feet or more across the room scareing me to near death
