melons? those are around/with mold?

You know... I'm not exactly sure. But my list of "don't eats" included all melons - watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew. I'm also not supposed to have have any dried herbs. And I think strawberries were on the list. So, I'm guessing the concern is that those fruits tend to mold ??? She did mention that teas tend to mold as they dry. I just haven't been able to kick my very bad tea habit (I have tea beeping at me in the microwave as I type), cheese habit, strawberry habit and how can one NOT eat watermelon? That's just not possible!!!

If you saw the sheet they gave me, you might be surprised. That sheet knocked me down to next to nothing to eat. Granted, the one week I managed to stay 100% on my no allergen diet was the one week that I felt great - except that I started feeling run down from lack of protein.

I did manage to kick the mushroom habit. It was tough - but it didn't kill me. I can still make salads pretty w/o mushrooms in it. Mushrooms are rather brown and boring anyway.

If you haven't guessed... I'm not doing too well with the "no molds" category. Probably why I'm still struggling with a swollen throat - some days it is still pretty bad.

Well I shouldn't be allowed to go to the auction by myself. I ended up bring home 15 rabbits, 2 Australian Diamond doves. 2 Java Rice finches, and 6 chickens (I think that one may be a roo

Theyre called freedom rangers. They were the 2 surviving hens that didnt get butchered the weekened before last.

Too bad I couldnt find somewhere for mix bantys that easy! I cant give those guys away. I have the cutest little flock running around, one rooster and his 4 girls. They are still so small they slip out of the fence everyday and roam all over. I dont even know how nothing gets them. I think its because only the ones I LIKE get picked off

Is this what they are? http://www.freedomrangerhatchery.com/learnmore

Do I understand - they are meat birds? Wow! If they are, I'd say you did pretty well for yourself!

Here is Veronica's first egg compared to a Salmon Faverolles egg -

And here is my pretty little Veronica - I am just in love with this affectionate tiny girl. She often sits on my shoulder when I'm playing on the computer.
What a wee little egg! And Veronica is a very pretty wee pullet too. I hope you find her some other Serama girls too.
I want to see a pic of your new Paint Silkie!

I picked up my first eggs today. Woot!! I've got 4 lavender Orpingtons, and she threw in a black copper Marans. I can't wait to get the rest and put them all in!
Best of luck with the hatch! I hope you get what you want.

My vegan niece recommended some books for me to help with the egg allergy. I *know* I should buy them. I haven't brought myself to buy them because... well, because they are vegan! LOL! I guess I better just get over it, and get it.

You can get around that by borrowing them from the library.

So sorry!

And... one of the biggest reasons I don't want a dog, besides my boy being allergic to them, is the expense. The cost of dog food is ridiculous. And, that's just the food. Dogs come with many other expenses, too - and they don't give you anything that you can't reuse. Their poo isn't exactly garden friendly.

With all due respect to you and your allergic son,
Not one of my dogs is expensive.
Yes, dog food is pricey, so are those tennis balls for toys.
In all the years that I have had a dog as a pet, the expense is far less than the expense of a son from a woman that I married.

My dog gave me something that I can't reuse but can pass along. He gave me unconditional love. My "son" gave me conditions that had to be met...usually with hundred dollar bills. The human boy is in jail. The dog, well he never hurt a soul. The dog died because I spent money on the wife's son instead of vet treatment.

Considering "price", I'll take a dog any day. Maximum return on a small investment. It's unconditional and freely given to those who deserve it.

Dogs give you everything that you can reuse. But only if you consider "reusing love".

I apologize if I have offended you. If I were a dog, I would simply accept and wag my tail.
