I figure I probably overshot it, but that's how it usually goes, lol. I'm pretty proud of myself, I came up with a way to refill the channels on the bottom of the incubator without removing the lid. I poked around in the medicine cabinet and found an unopened stomach tube, from back when I did foster and rehab work with reptiles. It's a slender, tapering tube about a foot long, which goes on the end of a 300 cc syringe, and fits through the vent holes on the top of my incubator! Using the 2 vents, I can go around the eggs to reach all of the channels and add water as needed. Hmm, if I drip any water on the eggs by accident, will they be alright? Reptile eggs don't like being dripped on, it leads to mold. I get the impression that chicken eggs are a lot sturdier than snake or lizard eggs.

You know... I'm not exactly sure. But my list of "don't eats" included all melons - watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew. I'm also not supposed to have have any dried herbs. And I think strawberries were on the list. So, I'm guessing the concern is that those fruits tend to mold ??? She did mention that teas tend to mold as they dry. I just haven't been able to kick my very bad tea habit (I have tea beeping at me in the microwave as I type), cheese habit, strawberry habit and how can one NOT eat watermelon? That's just not possible!!!

If you saw the sheet they gave me, you might be surprised. That sheet knocked me down to next to nothing to eat. Granted, the one week I managed to stay 100% on my no allergen diet was the one week that I felt great - except that I started feeling run down from lack of protein.

I did manage to kick the mushroom habit. It was tough - but it didn't kill me. I can still make salads pretty w/o mushrooms in it. Mushrooms are rather brown and boring anyway.

If you haven't guessed... I'm not doing too well with the "no molds" category. Probably why I'm still struggling with a swollen throat - some days it is still pretty bad.

That would be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO frustrating!!!!

Have you ever tried, or looked into cleansing? Maybe some major cleansing could help curb some of the allergies?

Well, nite all! I'm tired.

It has been a great day. I'm finally at peace with my little flock. I don't feel the need to add any more at the moment. I'm quite content to wait until spring. I didn't realize this until today... even though I was pretty positive that they were all pullets, I think I still carried a fear that someone might wake up one morning and crow. With Drama being so big, and different, she kept me wondering. Three birds, three very different eggs... I don't have any roosters in my coop!

Is this what they are? http://www.freedomrangerhatchery.com/learnmore

Do I understand - they are meat birds? Wow! If they are, I'd say you did pretty well for yourself!

Thats them. It was kind of weird because there was no questions involved or anything other than when could I meet?
I wasnt able to so my sister went for me since she was going that way already. She handed over the box, took the money and I guess that was that?

I have tried in the past - before the docs finally got it figured out the big problem was allergies. Some of what I attempted to take via a naturopath actually caused things to get a little worse. I went to Bastyr. They sold me dried herbal tinctures. Which, now I think is funny, considering my current doctor said I'm not supposed to consume any dried herbs/teas at all because of mold growth on plants while they dry. Many years ago, I also tried a $200 colloidal silver treatment and a Candida diet program. What a waste. I actually wonder if it caused issues.

I'm getting allergy shots for 20 of my environmental allergies in hopes to get my immune system kicked into gear. My doc wants me to focus on that. She said after I have been on that for a while, and my immune system begins to get stronger, we can talk about other things I can do for the food allergies (beyond not eating known food allergens). The environmental shots seem to be helping. I can finally be around my chickens for a little while w/o my throat swelling. That's a good thing. The pine shavings still bother me though. I'm hoping my "trees" shots will kick in soon.

I think the only "cleansing" she would recommend would be not eating anything that was on the lists of food I'm not supposed to eat. She told me it is going to be a long process for me - longer than for most people. I just have to be patient and do the best I can to follow what she recommends.

Now I just need to come up with some allergen-free recipes that I like.
