It's Fall y'all (which means most of the plants I intended to transplant should have been moved by now
).

OH!
I just went outside to get the paper and I felt a few rain drops. There does not look to be much moisture in the clouds coming from the west but even a little bit would be helpful for the fires!

Mr. Deeve- He's great! The next day he woke up with almost no trace of any stings at all, it was weird. Then 6 days later he got stung on the bottom of his foot after going outside barefoot when I told him to go put shoes on. Darn kid and those shoes! Do you sense a recurring them here? I think you probably told him to go put on shoes 10 times while you were here.He seems to be quite innoculous to bee stings though!
Now that all the bees have been sufficiently murdered by DH, we're hoping for a bee-free fall.![]()
Tilda is still the same. She can barely walk, hasn't eaten in 36 hours, and stopped drinking unless I syringe liquids into her. Stuff's still moving through her though because she's pooping yellow water and a teensy bit of solids. I'm just sick over her. How does one know if a chicken is truly suffering? If she's in a lot of pain we'll take care of her tonight; if not I think I'll wait her out. I just don't know the signs.
Jessica, are your other birds OK? Or is it just Tilda?

Just her! Everyone else is quite chipper and ****** off that I won't let them out of the run.
Thanks for all of that! For now I think she's doing OK-ish so I will allow her to rest in the crate. She's in a small dog crate with a wire door, like a pet caddy. I have shavings in there and a short glass of water, and a shallow dish of food hung on the door. She knows where they are. Question is how long DH will allow me to have a chicken in the house and baby her. I am going to keep syringing water in her, but maybe I don't need to do it quite so often. Yesterday I think I gave her 5-10 syringe fulls every 1-2 hours. Maybe I will just stick to trying every 3-4 hours today and keep the water/food in there. I think I'll cull if she stops passing poo/water. That would be miserable. That's a tough question to answer.
Bottom line - if you feel the right thing to do is end her misery, I don't think that is a mistake.
Do the best you can with what you know at the time. (I try to live by that)
Good luck,
Mr. Deeve.
