Getting busy, and let a flock out in the yard so have to keep an eye on them, but here is my son's quilt I made for him several years ago, it covers a KING size bed, floor to floor & pillows tucked and is double batted for warmth................

The last pic shows the underside.
Perfect for a 20-something young man.....all batik prints.
GOTT GO but I will be back........LOVE quilting.
This one BTW is not quilted, it is tied, due to the double batting...it would suffice for sleeping outdoors in the Yukon in winter.

CL... your mother's handcrafts are beautiful!

Been searching for subs for foods that I'm allergic to, like cinnamon, so I can make some traditional fall recipes. In the process I came across this website that may be helpful for many of you: http://www.foodsubs.com/

BTW... I didn't realize cinnamon and a lot of spices come from trees. Cinnamon is the inside bard of a tropical evergreen tree. I'm not sure if other "tree" spices are going to give me issues, or not, since I am so allergic to so many trees and grasses.

Why not go get tested ?

Our dentist won't let children have night guards.

I have one. I wish I had mine earlier than I did.
Go somewhere else.

Never let 1 person steer your life.
If he will not allow chicldren's nigh guards, ask him what the heck you need ???????????????
If he has no decent answer, go elsewhere.
Last I looked, nightguards were sold at a few Pharmacy's...big enough so a child will not swallow them, and prevents so much further dental destruction.

OK Chickielady, here's just a few of my mom's quilts. I can't find my Air Force quilt right now and it's really worrying me though, it's my favorite and I have no idea where it is!
Our wedding quilt, all batik fabric my mom collected over the years:

William's cowboy quilt when he was just born (she makes each grandson a cowboy quilt):

The kids "I spy" quilt with all different fabrics:

John's cowboy quilt (all Roy Rogers fabric):

Scripture free-stitched into the borders:

John's airplane twin bed quilt:

Another airplane quilt for JOhn:

Jeanine's baby quilt (all Mary Engelbreit fabric):

Her name free-stitched:

Scripture free-stitched:

Baby doll quilt:

Gorgeous quilts, everyone! It's an artform I greatly admire, but which I don't have the attention to detail to engage in. And those socks! Wow!

I just ordered my Halloween costume.... now I have to put together a "nest" to sit on my shoulders. My husband is going to think I've gone off the deep end.

Ha! Cute! Does that make you an "egg head"? ;) What about those round blank wreaths you can get at craft stores, made of straw? You could glue loose straw onto it, and put it around your neck....

I know, I'm probably over thinking this. I have actually been considering switching back to Scratch & Peck Layer feed now that they're grown and laying. I know there's other soy free feeds too though, so when I go this weekend to the feed store I'll have to check them all out. Organic would be great but I don't know that we can afford to feed them organic.
Did you look at feed prices from azure standard? they have organic soy free pellets.
