CL... thank you for the recipes and instructions for planting garlic. I tried a long time ago but had not clue about doing it right.

Another Quilt....
I saw the beautiful quilts from a few days ago, I especially like the batik wedding quilt! Can't get enough of the batiks!
Here's one I did with my Mom a couple of years ago. It's done with the "quilt as you go" method someone else mentioned. You can tell by looking at the back, each large square and the borders were done as stand-alone units, all the way through the quilting stage. Then they were sewn together and the binding was done. It's a great way to manage a large quilt on a home sewing machine. I can't justify the cost of paying someone else to do the quilting on every quilt so it works well for me.

Each block is quilted differently. I liked the hen -- can you see I quilted eggs into the basket?

So...why wash eggs at all?? I have never, ever washed an egg from my chickens. If they have any smudges on them, I just wipe the smudge, but they are usually perfectly clean.

I wash them all, mostly due to the fact that some people out there may be more sensitive to germs than I am.
Some people may lower functioning immunal systems and can get sick from merely handling an egg...it may look clean, but have microscopic bacteria on it that you cannot see.
And while I do have great insurance, I really do not want to be sued for making anyone sick.
So I follow the Dept. of Agriculture's guide to washing eggs.
It really is not hard to do.
Not hardly hard at all, and then I can rest assured someone will not get an illness from my eggs.
I also make sure that the 'safe handling' instructions are on the carton, then, if they mishandle, do not cook properly or refrigerate, and then get sick, they cannot come after me about it.

Gorgeous !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I guess we need to explain the Divide & Conquer" method to JB so she does not have to go buy the book.
Maybe there is a tutorial on the web somewhere ???

I finally got a diagnosis for why I am having much pain and stiffness in my hips. It may explain most of the pain issues besides. I seem to have a form of arthritis called Ankylosing Spondylitis. So far what I have learned is that I am not going to have any fun with it, and I will not get any better over time. Still it is a relief to know that it is real, and not just in my head. I have spent way too many years being told, and thinking that I am somehow making up the pain. At least now I can know that there is a real reason for the pain.

So I texted my MIL and this is what she said about her AS...
"The best medicine I have tried is hydroxychloriquine. Also ice helps. I keep neck rolls in the freezer and use them wherever they need to go on my back then put them in the microwave for heat. A hot bath or hot tub and a pain pill help me sleep better at night. I also find that memory foam mattress helps"
Hope you find a good treatment that helps you! I understand suffering from conditions widely unknown by the public and have faced ignorant thinking, by doctors included, who don't "see" anything wrong with me. You're in my thoughts!

he wants spaghetti...so I gotta go whip up some sauce as I am all out in the freezer...I make 5 gallons every so often & freeze in single servings and I swear, someone keeps rustling my spaghetti sauce.....

I can do Friday I will just have to leave sooner than I would want to.
I will make sure to get there early so that if anyone elts shows up early I have just a bit more time sense I will have to leave after only a short time.

Myself, I could easily get there a little earlier.

For those not familiar with Third Place - there are lots of little fast-food type places in the Commons.
Easy to have a little lunch or just a cup of coffee and something yummy from the bakery.

And to all the south end friends: we call it a "northend" meet-up because of location.
We would LOVE to have any or all of you come join us!
That would be such fun. Maybe carpool up here?

I could do 11 am. I haven't been having a whole lot of fun at soccer practice lately anyway. I will be dropping my husband off in downtown at 10, so I could pick someone up along the way north if anyone needs a ride.

Give it time. Eventually you will get some eggs that are all smeared with mud and cackle spackle. Egg customers don't like to buy "dirty" eggs ! ! ! !
