Codybird - I'd love to see a picture of your whole coop.

I'm thinking it looks perfect for raising small batches of chicks. Perhaps I could get DH to make one like it and light enough to move around like a tractor.

Kim,

I like the dimensions of the tractor. I had to make it coon proof because it is also my coop. It is heavy but still moveable.

You may not have to beef it up like I did and can keep it lighter.

Search "Mondo Condo" in coop design to see it.

Kansasseq,

I used a hole saw drill bit for door knobs. The first hole I drilled cracked the bucket, I learned to put a piece of wood belind the plastic to support it and drill slow and it works like a charm.

First let me say great job on the feeder and waterer!!

Second would there be any reason you or anybody could think of that this feeder wouldn't work with ducks? What kind of bucket did you use? Anyway thanks for posting and once again good job.

JJdward,

The bucket is an empty Delicat cat food container from Sam's. I liked it because it was square.

I'm thinking about a 5 gal round plastic bucket design since they are more available to everyone. Maybe a funnel upside down in a coffee can to slope food toward the exterior holes. I wonder?

Unless ducks have some primal genetic instinctual fear of sticking their head in a hole to eat, it should work. Get a bucket and cut the holes, forget about the inside piece, and see if they take to it. you will only be out one bucket.

There are so many good ideas on here. Just search "homemade feeder or waterer" and there are thousands of good ideas.
The mind boggles.

UPTHECREEK,

Thanks for the compliment, but I'm just a piddler with too much free time.
