I agree they should be fine through the night, but if it makes you feel better you could go give them a little drink before you go to bed.

They will have access to water all day, until they go in for the night. We are putting in a 200 gal. (give or take) pond for them to swim in. They will have free range of the yard til bedtime. And 23 chicken friends. Are ducks like chickens when it comes to not moving around much after dark?If you give them water in the afternoon then they should be fine

My experience is no. Mine party like rock stars, and pretty much trash their house. They sleep sporadically. Are ducks like chickens when it comes to not moving around much after dark?
Thank You. I just want to make sure my babies are healthy and happy. (And spoiled )My experience is no. Mine party like rock stars, and pretty much trash their house. They sleep sporadically.
I do give them a chicken waterer, half full, in one of those rubbery bowls so they can have a sip of water at night. One time they managed to get the tray part off the bottle. I've let them go with no water overnight on occasion, and they were fine.
Yeah, Mr./Miss Duckles has food and water in the brooder. I have a bowl of water sitting in a round cake pan, to catch most of the mess. I have marbles in bowl, cause of chicks, Duckles likes to play with them. S/He will push them around. It's so cute.Miss Duckles needs food and water till at least 5 weeks old 24/7.
