How do you keep your ducklings from soaking the whole brooder with their water? I am having a hard time keeping them from wetting whole brooder and with it so cool I worry about them getting wet.

I brood my ducklings on wire cages up off of the ground. This way, the water just falls on the ground and i dont have to worry about the shavings clogging up the waterer and acting like a wick.

We use the bottom half of an extra large dog house for our ducklings. I came up with an idea to keep their bedding dry and still keep the water with in reach. I took a Sterilite tub and cut the side out to match the door opening on the dog house. Then held them together with bungie cords. I put their water and foot in the sterilite tub and all the junk stays in there. Be sure not to cut all the way to the bottom. you might want a small ramp to get over the lip for them when they are small. Mine are 2 weeks and have no problems getting over it. Even my duckling that has a birth defect with his legs and is missing the middle portion of his legs can get in and out.
