I have 2 5 gal waterers. I want to heat them from freezing. Tell me the best way . I have looked to buy something to set under them store bought,
but found nothing. Maybe home made?

you can get a heated dog bowl and put your waterer insdie the bowl? They sell a plug attachment that turns on when its freezing and off when its 45. Both can be found at the tractor supply store.

I've had Chickens, Peacocks, Pheasants, and now Silkies for years and I've always watered right out of heated dog bowls in the winter. I have found though that these do not work for the Silkies. As they grew, their fuzzy Top Knot got wet when the drank. So I had to buy a Metal waterer and a heated base to set it on. Both from TSC.
