Water hose

I don't know how you deal with the cold up there. This arctic snap is wearing me down already! I'm traveling this weekend and I'm worried about our duck sitter as well! Oh the struggle.
We usually embrace the snowy weather, but this cold worries us with the ducks. This may be completely crazy, but, at least for us, a wireless camera in the duckhouse sure gives us peace of mind both at night when we're at home and when we are away.

If I'm carrying more than 2 gallons, I use the plastic sled. I can put 2 buckets of feed, and several gallon jugs on the sled, and carry a third gallon if I'm so inclined.
Our egress from the house either involves stone stairs or the so-called hill of death...otherwise we'd be hitching up our sleigh! ;-)

Bummer! I have a snow blowed path both from back deck (full flight of stairs) or a snow blowed path that goes from front of house, around the side plus about 100 more feet. It's an easy sled pull as long as I remember to get out of the way of the sled during the slight down hill so the sled does not knock me over. Any time there is any ice, which is very often, I use a ski pole for extra traction.

I have ice cleats. Boy do they come in handy. We live in the mountains there isn't much flat ground. Thankfully my coops are very close to our home so not too much climbing goes on in winter . We use our spring in warm months dh has given me 2 faucets out in our poultry property but it freezes in winter so well water has to be used. It's not that far to carry but sure gets old fast. lol

Y'all are the real MVP's for sure up north and in the mountains!
I think I need a little wagon to pull the water from the house...that's a good idea.
I LOVE the heated hose, but my mid-NC life doesn't justify the investment.

I have a slightly different question about their frozen turds. I went out there this morning and there were frozen mounds everywhere. I’m assuming there is not much I can do but didn’t know if someone had better ideas. It’s been below freezing for about a week now. That’s a lot of poo.......

Oh man, it was crazy this morning. The straw in their pen was crunching like ice and their poo was solid too!!!!! It was wild I might be shoveling today. I don't want it to hurt their feet
