Depends on what type of fish and what type of plants. Some fish will eat the roots off of your plants and kill them, and some plants don't like to have their "feet" that wet all of the time and prefer to grow in a well draining substrate where their roots aren't being drowned.

I meant my situation. Peacock gudgeons, Blue Lampeyes, and Cherry Shrimp with leafy greens, root vegetables, and perhaps strawberries.

update,

going for my tilapia permit in a few days, then going to work on a system. (if i get approved that is) deciding to go with either go with an aquaponic system or go with a pure aquaculture system.
