Water nipples cracking plastic buckets

Lowe’s buckets and all were hand tightened. I didn’t even go back to the gasket the whole way. They didn’t leak from nipples, the leak was when the buckets cracked. I think it may be from being exposed in the sun possibly. Actually it could’ve been a lot of Variables I guess.

I’ve been using a Lowe’s bucket but it’s in the shade and has a canopy on it. Could be from heating in the sun and the water temp fluctuating? Best guess anyways.

Huh. I would have expected those to be the toughest.

All mine are food-grade discards from the deli and bakery -- even the 5-gallon bucket I use as a stool in the run is a pickle bucket. I wonder if that makes a difference?

TSC sells theirs as “food grade”
There is definitely a large difference in the plastic.
Food grade is definitely much thicker.
