water nipples

Hello,
I am going to try water nipples. My worry is if it spring a leak and all the water runs out.question:

How long has your water nipples lasted with out fail?

I've been using them for about a year - vertical nipples for the little chicks and horizontal nipples for the big girls. A year might not sound like long, and I'm sure others have used them even longer, but it's pretty impressive given sub-zero climate in winter (usually) and baking sun in the summer. I'm impressed with them.

I think for me I'd rather take a chance on a nipple springing a leak and cleaning up just below it over cleaning up a entire section of a coop or run because a big traditional waterer got dumped over. And as I'm sure you've already discovered, cleaning a closed bucket once in while beats cleaning a fountain waterer a few times a day.

Yep aelge and poop in water is nasty and alway spilling it on my shoes. I live in CA so I don't have to worry to much from freezing.
