I currently have coturnix quail in my incubator. I'm trying to prepare everything before they hatch, and I was wondering if my well water would be okay for them to drink. It has a very high amount of iron in it (so much it is tinted yellow) but my cows and dogs are fine drinking it, so would it be any different for the quail?

I personally would not use well water as may have high bacterial count parasites etc. in addition to iron. If you do not have potable water, can collect rainwater in a rain barrel and use that for your animals including cows and dogs.

Do you regularly have your well water tested? When was the last time your water system was shocked?
A properly maintained well yields better water quality than a municipal supply.
