I think after the package is opened you probably keep it in the fridge. One of my dogs had liquid form antibiotics. That stuff had to be refridgerated.

Thank you all so much for the input. I wondered why the person we got the girls from, was giving it to the birds all the time. but now I am worried they may have a dependancy (sp?) on it, because they are 7-9 months old, and I believe they were with the same owner the whole time.
I didn't feel like it was a good idea to give them this medicine (especially an antibiotic), just that gut feeling. I know they need to have a strong immune system to have the best health in the long run. plus I just don't want to medicate if it's not needed. I believe my question has been answered.
my girls seem to be healthy so far (we've had them since saturday), so the meds will only be used if need be.

whew!! that is one less thing for me to think about now.
