I have a momma duck with two babies (I assume the question would be the same for chickens), and I'm worried about the babies getting access to the water. I don't think they can reach a very deep container, but when I added a special shallow one the adults come and drink the water too quickly, so I have to refill several times a day. Does anyone else have babies in with adults? How do you keep them watered? Thanks.

For broodies I just use the regular plastic waterers (white top, red base), 1,3, or 5 gal and just put rocks/marbles in the base if I am afraid of the chicks/ducklings falling into them... if the edges are a little high I will put a brick or board by the base for the babies to get up on.
