WATERFOWL EGG CHAIN ANYONE??

ahh. No wonder why I didn't see this earlier, I never check Chickenstocks, shows, & swaps section.

Sadly, I'd like to participate, but I've never shipped eggs. And all my duck hens are caring for babies right now, and not laying. My duck hen numbers dropped badly when a fox killed a bunch of them.

Luckily, I have at least 10 out of 25 muscovy ducklings I'm keeping, and I have 5 various breeded ducklings in a pen.
& I'm ordering 15 ducklings tomorrow.

So sadly, I cannot participate this year, maybe next?

Edited to correct spelling.

I suggest everyone go back and read the first page or wherever they have the instructions on this thread. If you take the current offer, you then make an offer. It is just that simple. But you do have to take a current offer before you can offer one, that way the chain keeps going and everyone who offers eggs gets eggs.

becky, ive read the instuctions, again here they are...

"The person who just offered eggs up gets first “dibs” on the person’s eggs. For example… let’s say Sue Joe bob just offered two sebbie eggs. And then Billy bob comes along and says that he wants them and then he offers two mallard eggs. Sue has the first choice of those eggs. And until she finds something she wants, she get first dibs on eggs. That way, we can keep the chain moving but at the same time, we can track who is getting what and who is still owed eggs. The chain cannot move on until the person who is owed eggs either passes on the current offer or takes them. Anything longer than 24 hours without a response will be automatically moved along. "

Heres what happened, someone was absent for quite a long time, so i suggested we move on. As i only had khaki campbell duck eggs to swap (well so did the absentee). Well then Pidgey took the khaki campbell eggs. So since the absentee wasnt here, i was gonna send mine. I never got to take anyones eggs, so Pidgey made the next offer and i took it. So my question was, am i supposed to fork out more eggs? Cause that hardly seems fair, i filled in so the chain would keep moving.

Yes, I did the same thing awhile back with geese eggs. I offered to get the chain started again with eggs and then ended up with nothing either since I passed on the next offer. Seems we need to get the person who got eggs that caused the chain to stall to at least pay postage for the person that starts it again.
