Waterfowl Pics and Chat!

I had a duck get the white in the eye when I had ducks and I just went and got the triple antibiotic ontiment and put it in there a couple days and it works Terrimycin works excellent....

This is the poor duck hurt by the dogs. I'm thinking she's gotten straw in her eyes or something. I'll try the oinment, but its suggestive of respiratory issues. I might be bringing her back to the vet. Poor Lucky, I'm afraid we may have to rename her.

Marty it seems like Lucky is having a hard time recovering. So I do believe you need to get her back to the vets and get her on an antibotic. The stress that she has lived through and her not pullig out of it more by now? Do not mess around get her looked at. I know your daughter will be crushed if Lucky loses the battle....
My best to you and Lucky.

I hope Baby is doing better by now as well.

Baby would be walking if one of her feet hadn't curled due to lack of use. I'm thinking I'll be doing the cardbard and duct tape foot spreader thing.

Lydia yes it was, we had been schedule twice, but had to reschedule both to yesterday so we could have all dewlaps here before testing. Glad we did too since we had to have all of them tested, otherwise we would have had to have the state back out to retest everything. Figures though we picked December for the reschedule thinking we would be cool and comfy. Yesterday was 80 and high humidity, today is breezy and 70's lol.

Hubby and I looked like we had been butchering all day with the blood splatters from wings after doing all the birds.

Celtic- Are you allowed to become a "certified poultry tech" in your state so that you can do the blood/swab testing yourself? I just went through the process here in Pa.

No pics. Baby is making a pig of herself with the food these days. One foot is curled up now, I'm hoping it recovers for walking soon. Shes feeling good, and is fairly mobile, but not enough to be in with the other birds. YAY She is getting better

Lucky is getting white stuff in her eyes like baby used to have. I'm afraid if she doesn't get going soon, its gonna be too late for her.

come on Lucky... you can do it

The city prosecuter called me today. She was shocked they'd let the dogs go after 3 days, they were supposed to be helf for 10. She gave me the name of the dog owner, but I wasn't where I could wright it down. She is going to pursue having the dogs put down, since dogs that kill stock are supposed to be put down. She's also pursing getting money, and I'm forwarding her the estimate for replacements from Celtic. Since I didn't insist the dogs be put down, she's going to use the fact that they should be to try and get the owner to pay the full amount right away, in order to spare his dogs lives

I hope she gets something for you.

I'm so happy to hear they are making an effort to reimburse you. I hope Lucky gets a move on healing up, and so glad Baby has got her appetite back.
