I noticed the gosling had red where the "whites of the eyes" should be and the wing "elbow" part was showing bright red skin...so that along with the fact that he seemed to get worse under the brooder light made me think to take his temp. Now I know nothing about geese temperatures...but his was 102.2 F.

does this sound normal?

After doing a search i found that temps for duckilings and geese are about the same as chicks so at 2 weekks old they should be around 95 degrees and drop by 5 each week. Could the babe have gotten burnt by the light? If light is in brooder it could be a burn.. MAybe try changing post title to ask about the red spots .. MAybe someone has had this problem before.... Definitly back off the heat a bit though... Good Luck

oh I doubt its that much because before, when i actually had a thermometer in there I had to add books under it just so that the light was giving enough heat. I am sure its probably close to 80 degrees or so in tehre now. But I was wondeirng about the body temperature...but he's doing better now so thanks anyway
