Has anyone on here tried waterglassing in general? If so what were your results?

I prepared two half gallon jars of eggs but have no idea if successful until I wait and try them. I used the huge pickle jars, made sure they were clean then did 1 ounce of pickling lime to 1 quart of water. I was able to fit 18 eggs into the 1/2 gallon size jar. I know it says it is normal for the lime to settle at the bottom and to not stir as you risk cracking the eggs, however since I am working on such a smaller scale every few days I will slowly tip the jar upside down and let all the solution go to the top then place back in the cabinet right side up.

My biggest concern is me having to wash off debris (NOT clean) before putting the eggs in the jar. I never clean or even wipe off my eggs as I am scared to remove the natural bloom. The directions for waterglassing say the eggs need to be clean of poop and debris but the bloom needs to be intact. I have no idea how to ensure you have not destroyed the bloom while getting the egg clear.

Please let me know if you have any advice or predictions or any experience yourself. Thanks!!
